If you acquired a windows XP SP2 installation disk, you would have had the drivers on the disk and not worry about trivia. CONSTANTIN (arzconst)

How to install windows 7 on Satellite A205-S5880

Hi,

To install Windows 7 no need for RAID driver. If you face issues in installing Windows 7 disable RAID in BIOS, install Windows 7 and then install RAID driver.

I can not install windows XP on Toshiba Satellite U300, windows

You must have latest Windows Xp CD .
Latest Motherboard chipset does not recognise hard disk without proper sata raid or sata driver. So you can install sata driver if u have USB floppy drive by downloading latest Sata raid to floppy. At the time of installation you will see a message press f6 to if u need to install raid driver.then press f6 asking for floppy drive and floppy insert press enter to continue.

Can't create RAID

It sounds like you have created an install disk. It also sounds like you pressed F6 to install additional drivers. Your install disk probably has 2 drivers on it. You must install them separately. So--you will have to tell the install program twice to install each driver in turn. Once you do that, it should work.

Manualm and drive forDFI 661FX-MLV (e)

You can find the manual and drivers for download on DFI's site. The best place to go for this kind of stuff is always the manufacturer's Web site. In cases, where you can't find what you need on the suspected manufacturer Web site then you look somewhere else to download the data at no cost.

I'm positive that you will be happy with this solution. You will find a color image of the board along with its specs, drivers, manual, along with technical documentation...all in one place.

Can not install windows xp

hubag, you need to check your bios. At boot up, press the delete key every 2 seconds & your bios will load. Make sure your SATA drive, (s) are listed example: {if your SATA drive is a Seagate the bios will show it as: ST3250823AS}. You should unplug any IDE hard drives connected to the system while installing Win XP. The Southbridge integrates a Serial ATA host controller that is SATA v1.0 compliant, supporting Ultra DMA 150 (SiS964 only). If you do not have your manual you can download it here at:
http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=392&DetailName=Manual&DetailDesc=&CategoryID=1&MenuID=6&LanID=9
661FX-M(V1.0B)
Once the bios is set & see's your SATA drive so will windows.
If you can not set your bios to list your SATA drive windows will never install on your SATA drive. You can also use the above link & down load drivers, including a RAID driver.

First you must know is that RAID has nothing to do in a laptop... that function has nothing to do if you use just one HD, I doubt your laptop supports that RAID thing, but if it does you should disable by entering your bios first. It could be SATA problem, that many times the silly companies call RAID or something else...

I would need precise information to help, information about what you do exactly and what exact messages you get.

normally if your hardware is OK and its just a laptop and there is no other thing connected to it, windows should install perfectly... so either you are doing something else or you have hardware problems. Stay in touch with more info please.
