Question about HP PSC 1350 All-In-One Thermal Printer

1 Answer

Scanner is broken, I think.

I have a HP PSC. The other day when I was cleaning the inside, the top of the printer--the part containing the scanner/copier--fell on the floor. The part that you see when you lift up the lid of the scanner/copier is now loose. If you have a picture of how it is supposed to look attached, I think I could re-attach it. I am just not sure what it looked like in the first place.
Thanks.

It isn't broken, but where is it's "spot"?

  • catherine698 Jun 25, 2009

Are you still there? What I am looking at is a long kind of rectangular bar with a white strip that looks like it slides on a vertical plastic bar that has notches on it. Only it doesn't rest comfortably on the bar.

  • catherine698 Jun 25, 2009

Is it just supposed to sit loose in there?

  • catherine698 Jun 25, 2009

Ok, I've got it placed. The picture really helped! It says there is something wrong with my print cartridge, so I don't think I can scan. Is that correct?

  • catherine698 Jun 25, 2009

Still same message. Any other ideas? Would it have anything to do with the fact that my color cartridge is almost dry?

  • catherine698 Jun 25, 2009

On the lower left side near the scanner/copier, there is a flashing yellow "E" in the copies square and the light next to the check printer cartridges is flashing red.

  • catherine698 Jun 25, 2009

Do I just push the scanner button?

  • catherine698 Jun 25, 2009

I pushed the scanner button and nothing is happening. Nothing happens when I push any of the buttons. With regard to the "drop", only the scanner/copier fell on the floor.

  • catherine698 Jun 25, 2009

When I "cleaned it" I only took out the cartridges and cleaned the pad for the black cartridge. I did this because I was getting the printer cartridge error message. I even bought a new black cartridge this morning. Still no luck!

  • catherine698 Jun 25, 2009

Yea! IT'S WORKING!!!! Thanks so much!!!

  • catherine698 Jun 25, 2009

    No, that's it! Thanks!

  • catherine698 Jun 25, 2009

The solution was very helpful. It allowed me to fix the printer in much less time than it would have taken me to figure it out myself!
    Thanks so much!

Are you talking about the lamp that moves inside when you scan?

if it is loose, you will need to open up the scanner/printer / all in one. and make sure the lamp is

that the lamp is straight and properly placed on its spot, if the part is broken you will have to replace it.

print cartridge thats for printing, open up the front cover and take out the cartridges, let it be without cartridges see what it says to that, then turn it off and unplug, wait 1 minute, plug it back in and insert the cartridges back.

  • Ekse Jun 25, 2009

    whats the exact error message?

might have been damaged on the drop.

  • Ekse Jun 25, 2009

Oh, you should be able to scan if it lets you. the error is not related to the scanner.

  • Ekse Jun 25, 2009

Have you connected everything properly? check the cartridge connections inside since you had it open, something might be loose.

  • Ekse Jun 25, 2009

Open the front door to the cartridges, remove the black cartridge, close the door, does the flashing stop?
if it doesn't stop then remove the other cartridge, close the door, does the flashing stop?

  • Ekse Jun 25, 2009

    No problem, anything else?

  • Ekse Jun 25, 2009

Okay, go ahead and press on the accept solution button.

    Thanks!

How do i clean my hp psc printer 1315, dissemble?

I have the same question. I want to clean the inside of HP PSC 1315, I want to get beyond the scanner glass. I tried to use a screwdriver to unscrew the four screws on the four corners of the printer, but the screwdriver doesn't fit. Is there a special tool to use it. Were you be able to dissamble the printer ?
Please let me know. Thanks!

Hp laserjet 3380

The problem is not your scanner, is in the rollers, the rollers are smudged with ink or other mateial or your glass is smudge, remove the four star bolts on the top and clean the undersurface of the glas with a conventional glass cleaner wipe and re install the top cover.Be careful with the ribbon cables connected to the circuit board.

The scanner head is unable to find start position.
You may have to clean the black & white strip under the glass.
HP has a document of how to clean the scanner glass.
Go to http://h10025www1.hp.com
You will be at the can't find page.
Enter c00553775 into the search block.
At the search result page, click on Hp All in one how to clean scanner glass.

NOTE: The underneath side of the scanner glass cannot be cleaned on any product. This is unlikely to be necessary and should only be done by an authorized service provider.
