What he means, is that you should get a cable to connect your VHS player with the soundcard. Presumably your TV card doesn't have integral sound. Look at the connections. Your VHS player probably takes phono cable, while your soundcard probably takes mini-jack. So a cable that has a single stereo mini-jack in one end and two (red and white or occasionally black) phone connections in the other end. Those are easy to come by if you go to an electronics store.
