Sounds like an internal problem. You will probably have to take the casing of the welder off and examine all your wire sets. It could be something simple as a connection issue. The transformer may have blown as well.

SOURCE: In my welding m/c Earth cable sime times brunout

was that "the earth cable burns out"- earth cables will burn out due to
1] the connections are loose and
2] the size of cable being used is too small,
increase the size of the earth cable, many manufactures fit a very thin cable to the set which are cheep and nasty, depending on the amperage used multiply by 11/2 times, tell your supplier what the sets maximum amperage on the set and he will give you the correct size. don't get it to long, and always get copper cable not aluminum.this also applies to the welding cable.

SOURCE: no weld output or 115v output

Hi
My name is rob, lets see if we can solve your problem

If the welders been working ok first question is what has changed, has it been moved or modified in any way?

Next, are ther any fuses or breakers fitted? are these ok?

Next, most engine driven welders have one major problem.
Vibration.

It shakes stuff loose, undos connections and damages static components,
Take some covers of to expose the internals and with THE ENGINE STOPPED check along the length of the cable harness especially at the ends of cables, give each terminal a tug with the cable to make sure there are no problems there. Also check the condition of the insulation of the harness along its lenght. at this point you may find a "hidden" in-line fuse somewhere in the harness if your lucky!

If none of this helps it gets a little more tricky, could you give me make and model? that would help a lot.

Regards
Rob

SOURCE: miller bobcat 225g plus welding problem

If the idle is not working, then it is either you idle solenoid attached to the carberator or your idle board is bad. If you apply 12Vdc to the idle solenoid is should move, if not then the solenoid is shot, no good. If it works then you idle board is bad. Also, check to see if you are 60Hertz by measuring at the outlet with a frequency meter. I recommend a Fluke meter. You should have 120Vac and 60HZ at the outlet. If the frequency is low then your engine speed needs to be increased. The idle solenoid could be causing all these problems.

Bobcat 225 runs good but wont weld.Welded great one week prior

Hi:

Probably your machine overloaded. Check the fuses F1 and F2 and if they are open replace them.
Both fuses are located at left hand side of machine, open it and you will find them on the bracket. Check your owner's manual for an ilustration of it.

Miller 251 NT will stick weld great for about 10 or 15 minutes and then the engine will begin to misfire and won't idle down and then doesn't want to strike an arc. Any suggestions. I had a tech look at it...

This is a very complicated machine and so I will say upfront that only a qualified tech should work on it. There are 2 fuses mounted on a tray holding PCB2. The tray is mounted on the lifting bail. The fuses need to be checked. Also there are circuit breakers and fuses mounted on the front panel that need to be checked. PCB2 is a control board monitoring the output and shuts down the weld power and aux power if there is an overload. The idle board is also watching the output and won't let the machine idle down if there is an overload. I have included the manual. Check Page 27 for overload protection and F1 and F2. An overload will occur if there is a shorted generator, shorted cube rectifiers, or shorted output diodes. Again, after checking F1 and F2, only a qualified tech should work on the machine. Absolutly no power to the TV. I have unplugged, checked circuit breaker, replugged and no power NO LIGHTS THERES NOTHING ITS A 42'TATUNG.PLASMA

possible problem areas; internal power controller is dead (most possible), x or y or both signal controllers are dead (tv would not turn on but actually it receives powers) - authorized service is the best bet unless you have above components and willing to do an organ surgery on your flat panel.
