Why the inlet valve is not stopping running water?

What happens with such electrically operated valves, is that a calcium (or other mineral buildup) prevents the rubber seals from stopping water flow. You need to replace the valve(s), or clean them thoroughly, using either LimeAway or CLR.

Cold water won't stop before rinse cycle

if it fails to stop running only at the rinse part of the cycle it is probably in the timer as the solenoid valve has to cut the water off when the washer fills for the wash cycle too. fills for wash cycle and cuts off water, washes and drains, refills for rinse cycle and water just keeps running? does this every time you run it? that's in the timer. bad solenoid (water inlet valve) would keep running even on wash fill up. hope this helps.

Bosch washer 2460 signals water tap closed, is this electrical, checked incoming hoses , water and screens

If you have checked the hoses and screens then the most probable failure is the inlet water valve. I suspect that one of the electrical water valve solenoids has failed. If you using cold water try a warm or hot wash. If your using hot or warm try a cold wash. I am not sure on this washer if there is a mixing valve but may front loading washers have mixing valves that mix hot and cold water simply to help dissolve the HE type soaps. If changing wash temp makes no difference then a continuity check for inlet water valve coil resistance will have to be performed with an inexpensive ohm meter. If there is no continuity the solenoid has failed and the inlet water valve will have to be replaced.

This unit appears to have 2 inlet water valves one for hot and cold and one for just cold that is used for diluting soap. You will need to check all 3 solenoids for continuity. The inlet water valves are items 5 and 6 of this picture:

My Kenmore Elite He4t front loading washer fills up with water when I'm not even washing clothes. I left some bed linens in the tub to be washed later in the week and when I opened the door to add some...

This condition is typically caused by faulty solenoid or solenoids at the water inlet valve. Unplug the machine, turn off the water, and remove the supply hoses. Check the solenoids at the water inlet valve. They can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter and checking for continuity. A lack of continuity will indicate a faulty solenoid and the inlet valve assy will need to be replaced. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

My washer just stops about 2 minutes after starting it during the water loading cycle. i have tried unplugging and turning it off several times but it keeps doing it. any advice?

Check for a water supply problem.Take a look at the water inlet valve. Unplug the machine and remove the water supply hoses. Check the small metal screens inside the openings on the water inlet valve. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Check the solenoids. Test for continuity. A lack of continuity means a bad solenoid. I will attach a photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Maytag MAH8700AWW water keeps running

Check the solenoids at the water inlet valve. Use a multimeter or ohmmeter and check the solenoids for continuity. A lack of continuity means a bad solenoid and the water inlet valve assy will need to be replaced. I will attach a photo for reference. Another possible cause would be a water level switch, but not with it running on only the cold water side. Hope this helps and best wishes.
