Press f1 start windows

It may be asking you to press the "F1" key because it is having a hardware problem which should be checked, or you may need to adjust the settings in BIOS. It can also be an indication that you need to replace the CMOS battery. Try this: Go to your BIOS and load default settings.2 Mar 2012

When I startup my pc I have to press F1 before it starts . I am running windows xp home

This has nothing to do with windows, but is a cmos or bios issue. There should be an error something like, Time incorrect press F1 to continue or F2 to enter setup. Check the error and then press the correct key to enter setup. If the issue is the time, fix the time and date in set up. Most other issues will clear when you exit and save set up.

If you would like more information, please provide the exact wording of the error that you are pressing F1 to continue from.

Hi, When I try to start my Dimemsion 5150C in Windows XP computer, I received one of the following error messages "Floppy diskette seek failure Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup...

The "floppy" disk-drive (3.5-inch diskette) on your computer is broken.
Press F1 to ignore the error, and to boot from your C: drive.
Or, press F2 to enter BIOS SETUP, and then navigate through those "setup" screens to tell the computer to "disable floppy seek", or change the setting from "3.5 1.44Mb drive" to "none".
Or, take the computer to a technician, and buy a replacement disk-drive, and get it installed.

Windows xp always starts with keyboard

Go the control panel> device manager and uninstall the keyboard but keep the drivers. When the system reboots it will recognize the hardware and reload the drivers. If asked, let windows search online for an updated driver. When it is finished installing the hardware, reboot to check the results.

when you turn on the computer, press F8 before the xp logo shows up. then choose "Safe Mode".
if widows loads ok, a window will come up. click no to restore to a previous date.

If windows does NOT load, you have to re-install windows. Put the CD that came with your computer and run the setup.
NOTE: if you want to keep your files, do not choose any options that format your drive.
