There should be a fuse holder near the place in the back of the amp where the power cord plugs in. Also some Marshalls have fuses in fuse holders on the circuit board. Always replace with the same value and type as the original fuse. Never open up the amp when it is plugged in to the outlet. When replacing the internal fuses do not touch the capacitors as they retain a lethal charge. If the fuse continually blows it is an indication of a more serious problem which will require servicing by a qualified repair person.

The most likely case is that one of the main output transistors (if which there are many) is shorted. When the protect circuit senses DC on the final output, it will not allow the output relay to come on to protect the speakers from raw DC. With the power removed, you can check between each outputs Emitter and Collector and you will probably find close to zero ohms. From that point you need to unsolder each of the pins of the bad channel until you find the shorted device(s) and replace them.

My adam A3X is suddently having the power switch stuck. I can no longer turn it on.

As loon as the power switch is not also a circuit breaker, just change the switch. If it is also a circuit breaker then there probably is some problem with the amp.

Hi, I own the Dynaudio BM6A acoustics monitors & I want to know if there is a circuit breaker system inside the monitors, for surge protection? The reason I ask is because I have no power conditioner...

If an internal circuit breaker pops, something has failed. Even surge protectors do little to protect stuff unless they are high level types with filtering. Key thing: ALL your interconnected equipment MUST be powered from the SAME receptacle or power conditioner. Using multiple outlets can allow building "ground bounce" to rupture sensitive input circuits. Use of balanced lines avoids noise in systems.

I can't find a schematic but there should be a circuit breaker or a fuse on the backside of the amp.

How do I remove the keys from a Roland KR 4700 piano? We can't figure it out. Please help! I can't afford to get a repairman. I need to replace the contact strip. It's happened before.

If these are semi weighted keys here is a cut and paste from a manual:
19. Disassembling the Keyboard Assembly
* After inserting a round stick (Rod: TX000670)
between the frame and the keys, remove the
circuit boards. (Fig. 23)
19-1 GHD EBUS L, MK SUB Circuit Board
(Time required: about 12 minutes)
Remove the seven (7) screws marked [260A]. The
GHD EBUS L and MK SUB circuit boards can then
be removed. (Fig. 24, Photo 5)
19-2 GHD M Circuit Board
(Time required: about 12 minutes)
Remove the five (5) screws marked [260B] and the
screw marked [262]. The GHD M circuit board can
then be removed. (Fig. 24)
19-3 GHD H Circuit Board
(Time required: about 12 minutes)
Remove the four (4) screws marked [260C] and the
screw marked [262]. The GHD H circuit board can
then be removed. (Fig. 24)
* Keys can be removed without removing the
circuit boards.
* After removing the GHD EBUS L, GHD M and
GHD H circuit boards, and the rubber contacts
can then be removed.
19-4 Rubber contact
Remove the GHD circuit board for the involved key.
The rubber contacts can then be removed.

The rod is inserted above the weighted hammer and the bottom of the keys from one end. It appears to be about 1/4 inch diameter dowel and will run the full length of the keyboard. You might use 3 foot ones from each end.

Screws are removed and the boards removed without taking the individual keys out.

Crate amp blew a house fuse and stopped working. pilot light still works and I can get a distorted signal through the headphones if I play a guitar very loudly through it.

When a piece of equipment causes a fuse to blow or a breaker to trip, it normally means something in the equipment's circuit was shorted. Either because of heat, moisture, a loose screw, loose wire, loose part, a bug, etc. For safety reasons, don't plug it back in and take it to a repair shop.

Hope this helps!
