SOURCE: color when I PRINT

actually, I bet you cannot print text either. It will come out very faded or completely blank. It is an issue with the printhead, on the black ink cartridge side.
You can try cleaning it using the printer itself (Menu -- clean printhead -- deep clean ).
IF you have the same problem, contact kodak aio support @ 1 800 421 6699 (open til midnight on ET) or go to www.kodak.com/go/atg and follow the troubleshooting steps there to fix the problem or replace the PH.

SOURCE: Won't print on regular paper

My quess would be that printhead is becoming clogged, photos don't use as much ink as plain paper printouts that is why they look faded! You need to call Kodak tech support!

SOURCE: only prints color--black ink is full, just put in a new cartridge

Instead of trying to change or find a "setting", the fastest resolution is to uninstall and reinstall the Printer, If not sure how, click start, click control panel, on the left of the window if you see switch to classic view, click there, IF XP, click Add/Remove Programs, if VISTA, click programs and features, remove all entries and reinsert install disk and repeat setup

I am not getting good color on my print out

Are you trying to print photographs on plain paper? Epson WorkForce printers are designed for fast office-type printing, not photo quality printing.
If you use photo-paper (specifically, Epson photo paper), and "best" quality setting, it should be better. Your color may not exactly match what you see on your screen, though. Welcome to the wonderful world of "color management".

Hello Landscapeman ,

You need to specify the paper type when the print dialog box appears. Heavy glossy paper needs to spend more time in the fuser so that the toner is fixed.

I see where to change color density settings in thick paper. Can I do this for plain paper? (Normal printing is too dark.)

The only changes you can make are in the printer preferences menu, so if you have lightened it up there you have made the only adjustment allowed or provided for.

My R1900 is over 1 year old. Profiles are set for Epson glossy and matte paper. Epson ink is used. Colors are now very green when printing to glossy or matte paper. However, if I use the plain paper...

The difference in choosing the paper type will have an impact on how head squirts ink onto the media. For Epson printers, the best choice to fit the color is plain paper. However, to the maximum dpi (best photo or photo rpm), plain paper does not support. This can be overcome by adjusting the color management of the program that we use.Or convert to bitmap all objects (such as Corel Draw), or also in print as bitmap option.

How do I lighten color on hp deskjet F4400 series?

Explain what you want to accomplish please.

If yor printer soaks plain paper with too much ink, go to printer properties and change the media type to plain paper, and the print quality to Standard or even Draft.

If however you want to print pictures on photo paper, and they are too dark/saturated, you need to adjust the photos using some picture edit/touchup application - there are plenty of them available free online, or on computer magazine CDs etc.

Won't print black when set for plain paper

Try removing all ink bins except black then you won't have any problems. You should also be able to go into your printer settings and select "Black and White" or "No Color" and it will print ok. Removing the ink trays is the easiest way though.

PIXMA Ip4000

I assume you're using photo paper.

Go to File/Print. Click Properties. Click Media Type and chose the photo paper you are using, whether it's Photo Paper Pro or whatever. If you're printing using Plain paper and you have photo paper in the printer, you'll get the stripes.

Hope that helps

Prints pictures too dark

II have had the same problem and it relates(at least to me) the type of paper yuo are using and the settings you place on the paper. With high glossy photo paper I was using the setting for that and then I switched to photo and text and set it for plain photo paper.

If that does not work then save the image to a photo soiftware such as windows fax and viewer and print it through that. You can lighten it especially for high gloss photo paper. Good luck This worked for me, The gloss photo settings made all m,y photos way too saturated on glossy photo paper.and much too dark.
