Question about Homelite Expand - It Brushcutter Attachment

Open Question

My quick attach ball lock came off at the pop rivet. Do you all sell replacements that can be pop riveted back on? Everything about the cutter still works, but without the ball lock, the cutter wants to twist where it quick locks into the motorized shaft.

2001 sport trac doeslower control arm have to be replaced due to balljoint or just balljoint replaced.

just the ball joint
check -if the ball joint is riveted into the lower control arm, it will be necessary to grind the rivet heads then punch out the rivets
replacement ball joints should come with the bolts needed to replace the rivets
some lower control arms have the ball joints pressed in so it is necessary to press out the old ball joint then press in the new unit

Replacing the pull cord on a scott bonnar sx4000

Home Depot and other home improvement stores sell universal replacement pull cords for less that 4 dollars. Instructions are on the bag. Look at the screen covering the pull cord to see if it is bolted on or pop riveted. If it's pop riveted you'll have to drill out the rivets to get at the cord. Have a pop rivet tool and the proper sized rivets ready to re install the cover

Repair lawn mower pull cord

Home Depot sells a replacement pull cord kit that has great instructions. My mower, however, had pop rivets holding the cover on the engine, so if yours does too, get a pop rivet tool with the correct size pop rivets before you start drilling out the old pop rivets.

Power Door Driver Side does not open on our 2005 Town & Country

You have a motor that actuates the lock, and it has failed, you must remove the door panel and replace that part, you will need a drill and a large pop rivet gun to install the part like the factory does, You will also need a rivet head cutter for the drill.

One of the rivets on the cross mechanism has broken off. How do I get this repaired? We bought the pram in November 2009.

Two solutions:
Traditional requires removing the damaged rivet.. at times this requires drilling the remains of the damaged rivet out.. Most of these rivets are "Pop Rivets". You need a Pop Rivet tool and of course the new rivet. The alternative to purchasing the tool and the appropriate size rivet. (Some hardware stores sell the rivets in different sizes by the each). Take the stroller to a sheet metal shop (Furnace A/C installer) or a Auto Body Shop.. both places will have the Pop Rivet tool and probably boxes of rivets.. if the old rivet is missing completely..and they have the right rivet and tool..it's a 10 second repair.

The other alternative.. is a fastener type referred to as "Well Nuts".. this is a rivet like device that you can install yourself.. two pieces.. a threaded insert..and the threaded mate. It looks a lot like a rivet when installed.. usually no special tools required. Good hardware stores may have them.. and it may just do the job.

Most of these rivets on your type of stroller are located in places that require them to be as flush as possible for obvious reasons.. folding.. and safety. If this one is not subject to either. A simple round head phillips screw of the right length and self locking acorn nut will suffice.

Best of Luck

I have a toro personal pace gts self propelled. only model number i foind was 2h802. pull cord broke, would like to know how to replace it

You can buy the whole part...cord,handle,recoil spring all in one piece and remove the old install the new...or you can just buy a legth of pull cord and swap everything over.
First take off the top 4 phillip screws and remove the plastic cover....don't forget to pull off the oil fill cap, next drill out the center of the three pop rivets that hold the recoil spring in place, use a drill bit a little smaller than the rivet, next tap the rivet out using a punch and a hammer, next install the pull chord by first rewindind the coil spring then locking it oin place so it wont twist back and install the new line(pull cord)...next install it on the top of the motor and install 3 new 1/4" aluminumn pop rivets 3/8" long with a pop rivet gun all can be purchased atb Ace Hardware...reinstall the reverse of dismantle proceedure and happy mowing...don't forget to attach the black plastic/rubber pull cord handle.
Happy Mowing!!

How to change ball joints

You'll need to move the brake caliper out of the way, and take off the rotor, seperate the ball joints from the steering knuckle, usually a pickle fork works well. If the ball joints have rivots holding them on, you'll need to grind them away, and knock them out, the new ball joints will have new bolts. Bolt in the new ones and reinstall everything. I would have the alignment checked afterwards.

How to replace a back door latch switch

with the hatch open remove any panel near the inside of lock so you can get to the horse shoe clip to remove. You must on some models remove on the outside of the trunk a logo style medal piece that is usually pop riveted on-this can be drilled at the pop rivets -but you must replace by using new rivets when finishing, that will be the last step-always examine the lock before removal so you know how to reinstall.

U joint replacement 94 chevy cavalier

If your talking about the lower ball joint , the OEM ball joint is riveted on with three rivets, the replacement is bolted on with three bolts/nuts. Carefully drill out these rivets (try not to elongate the mounting holes) . Drill the heads off and use a pin punch to remove the rivets. Pull off the old ball joint and install new with attaching hardware (which should be provided in kit). I can't remember the torque values, any shop should be able to provide this but I think it's 50 ft. lbs.

Power Door Lock Problem

The last post by maddog1321 was exactly what I had with my right rear door. The electric locks would not lock and unlock, and you almost couldn't do it manually without my feeling I was about to break something. I took the door panel off, oiled everything and got no relief. Finally, I saw the above post and drilled out the aft-most pop-rivet. THE WINDOW WORKED PERFECTLY! I didn't drill out the forward (closest to the handle) pop-rivet because I wanted to do one at a time so the solenoid would not fall out of place. I then put a new pop-rivet in place of the one I drilled out. I then reinstalled everything and the locks work like new.
