each burner has a natural gas jet or (orifice) as you pull them out, one atb a time. You should be able to color coordinate them at that point. the jets will be at the end of each gas line right before the burner. and each burner gets one. I haven't seen the model you are referring to. but the ones i have changed out in the past, usually the hole is the same size for all the burners no matter the size of the burners. If Brinkmann say the grill can't be converted there must be a reason and it would be unwise to jury-rig a conversion kit for another grill. Gas is an explosive substance, plus the mix of gas to air has to be in the correct percentage for a good burn.
Weber stopped selling conversion kits due to some legal action in 2008. There are no longer kits available. What you would have to do to covert it is order a replacement gas valve for the NG version of your grill just to get the orifices. Then you have to replace the LP regulator with a NG regulator. Typically most NG grills do NOT have a regulator but local building codes will require a NG regulator and a different gas line hose.
Conversion of a BBQ gas valve to NG is a matter of drilling out the orifice to a larger hole in an LP orifice.
You will not find anyone that will perform this conversion for you due to legal liabilites.
If you want to convert it... you will either have to order the whole gas control valve for NG or drill out the orifices yourself in your current gas valve hoping your got the orifice hole size correct when you drilled it. Mind you all liability for doing this lies solely with you.
Yes you can, but only if you know the BTU rating of the burners. Then you need to know what size drill bit to use to drill each orifice. Plus you will need to eliminate the LP regulator when you hook it up to your house's already regulated natural gas line. When you hook up any gas appliance, it needs to have it's own shut off valve installed on the gas line. I also like to install a quick-disconnect adapter after the shut off so I can release the hose from the grill and put the grill away when it's not in use. I have LP/Nat gas conversion charts available to look up drill sizes if you need to know more details. Keep in mind, that if the grill does not state the individual burner BTU ratings, but only the total BTU rating, you will have to divide that rating by the number of burners. Douglas
Hello, You will need to replace the nat gas orifices with propane ones, as propane orifices have smaller holes than nat gas ones. If you can't find a conversion kit for your grill, take it to a local propane co and have them convert it for you. What I do is drill out the existing orifices on the grill and install a spud, then redrill the spud with the smaller hole for LP-Gas. Then you will need to buy a regulator and hose and a 20# propane cylinder, if you don't have one. You can get those things from the propane co too. Call around first and see if anyone can help you.
NOTE: If your grill data plate isn't marked with the BTU rating of each burner, look at the nat gas orifices and see if there is a number stamped on it. I can reference this number to tell you what BTU rating they are drilled for and use that to redrill for propane. If they are not stamped with a number, then I would use my nat gas orifice drills to gauge what hole size it is. Hopefully you can find a local propane co that carries these orifice drill kits and orifice spuds to get the job done. You didn't mention the grill brand or model #, so I can't help with specifics until I know what you have. I may be able to find a conversion kit online if I knew that info. Douglas
Hello...I have the same grill and want to do the same conversion...From my research, you need to drill out the three orifices with a size #53 wire gauge drill bit. ( this resizes each orifice to 12000 BTU's each, which the grill is rated at 36000 BTU's).Then remove the existing hose and regulator. Replace the hose with a Quick disconnect compression fitted hose. The NG supply needs to have a pressure regulator installed, with a shutoff and quick disconnect fitting installed. Connect the hoes from the grill to the supply, and fire it up...THIS IS WHAT I INTEND ON DOING TO MY GRILL,BUT YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK>>>
Most major hardware stores that sell grills have a universal conversion quick connect hose and gas line adapter fitting. That.. you can probably handle. Next you need to install a quick connect adapter from the house gas line or meter (unless one is already there for you). Otherwise you may want to call your local gas company or fireplace/grill store to send someone out.
Last all LP to NG conversions require the orifices on the back of your grill's valves to be changed to larger holes. (LP has more pressure thus small holes and NG must be larger.) The trick is getting the precise numbered drill bit diameter(45-55) for your particular grill. You can look on your manufacturers web site to provide this info. Often times they can sell you a new set of orifices, predrilled, to the exact diameter for conversion. Drilling out orifices is usually cheaper and pretty easy if you know where to find the bits (internet or specialty tool store). Sometimes your local gas company or fireplace/grill shop will provide this service as well.

Generally you can drill the orifice out 7 drill sizes larger for the lp to naturall gas conversion... Start with 1 orifice and if you like the size flame repete as needed... cost.... free if you have a drill index!!
