So wait, when you hit the restart button the computer powers up successfully and it will boot into Windows? Usually when your computer is beeping like this at startup it is indicating some sort of hardware problem. Please let me know =)

Toshiba screen is bleu and now i have a2nd monitor but now i dont see anything only grey light how do i reset it cntrol alt del dosnt work nothing happens

When you turn it on, do you get a series of beeps? These beeps are codes that are related to specific issues, so if video card, memory, etc does not pass the POST (Power On Self Test) then it will generate a beep code and these can be looked up on the web.

It should at least beep. Those beeps are diagnostic codes. Listen to the beeps and google 'bios error beep codes'. If it doesn't beep, the motherboard must be replaced.

Short of it being something simple like your monitor cable is unplugged, the more likely problem is that there's a fault on your motherboard or graphics card.
You should have an internal speaker connected to your motherboard, it should be giving beeps depending on what the problem is. If everything is ok then there should be a single beep.
If you are not hearing anything try removing your RAM and boot up, you should get lots of loud beeps, if you hear nothing then it's likely your motherboard is faulty.

My monitor is not responding to anything. what can i do aside from rebooting?

do you see the light blinking in the monitor? I mean the POWER led light up? If so, then the monitor is ok and is working good. It is your CPU which has a problem and not sending digital signal for the monitor to display.
Try to turn off your computer. After 3 minutes turn it back on. then notice if you will hear a short beep from the CPU. That signals a successful video initialization. If you went through that process, then your computer will get back to life.
However, if you dont hear a short beep from the CPU, then definitely your CPU is frozen therefore there is nothing to display to the monitor.
You need to open the CPU case, pull out memory modules then plug them back in. Then try booting.
If not successful, try to open case and pull out the processor. Put it back in after 30 seconds. Try booting again.
Do ALL THESE while your PC is UNPLUGGED.
Good luck.

Dell Dimension XPS PC Desktop won't boot

Hi,

Vista is available in 32 and 64 bit os.
if your system ran xp which was most likely 32 bit. And you have installed a 64 bit version os.
this will be your problem, also Vista requires more system RAM/Memory to run it.
If you get 1 beep at startup, it states the system is ok.
Alternatives are device drivers incompatability.
Check M$ website, regarding vistas minimum system requirements.

Is processor dead

Its good that it beeps without the memory that means the mainboard is trying to boot. Make sure to try each ram chip individually in both sockets (if you have 2). If that gets nowhere I would try another CPU next.

Good luck!

Tower Beeping

As I can see the problem is not monitor but your PC if computer chasis beeping, depends on number of beeps the problem can be VGA card one long beep and 3 short or RAM if it beeping one by one short beep and finaly CPU if it continuosly beeps like police sirene. If beeps are pointing to VGA or RAM you must open computer chasis and plug out VGA and RAM and clean dust out of slots and of VGA card and RAM as well with painbrush and vacum cleaner and plug them back.
Good luck!
