Static on Plantronics CS-55

I had configured the headset correctly i believe. I can hear others and others can hear me, but the issue is the users say that i sound far away and very staticy. I have tried every different channel dial, and volume using both the large and small changes. Any ideas?

1. Check the configuration dial on the left hand side of the base to see if another setting works better. The recommended setting for most phones is 1.

2. Make sure your speaking (transmit) level is not too low. First, try increasing the volume on the telephone. Secondly, the master transmit controls are the ABCD switch settings on the bottom of the base. A is the lowest and D is the highest setting. You can fine tune this setting with the Plus (+) and minus (-) buttons on the back of the base that are above and below the picture of the microphone.

3. Double check the battery has a full charge. To check press down on the headset into the base station to ensure it is in the base in the correct position.

The Amber Charge light on the base will flash while charging and will stay solid amber when fully charged.

Can hear but other party cannot hear me

There are a couple of things you need to check. First, make sure it's connected correctly to the phone. This guide should help you with that:

Plantronics CS70N User's Guide

Secondly, the compatibility dial on the left side of the base has numbers 1-4. The indicator to the right of the dial needs to point to one of the numbers, never between numbers. Most phones operate using #1 for compatibility but you can dial in the others if you're still having issues. That should get you up and running.

You need to check all the locations of the dials and #'s, sometimes it is just a simple matter of turning a dial. Here is a link to the CS70 User's Guide that may help you.

• Check that all cords and jacks are connected correctly.

• Check that the base has power (red indicator light) and the headset battery is fully charged.

• Ensure you are in headset mode. Press the call control button to select correct mode. The talk indicator light on the base is green.

I can hear callers but they cannot hear me. Mute is not engaged,

Please see the link below for the User's Guide.

• Headset is muted. Long press (3 sec.) the volume down button on headset to unmute the microphone. See page 16.
• Improper positioning of voice tube. Try various other positions.
• Voice tube may be clogged. Remove voice tube and test to see if callers can hear you without it. If they can, then replace the clogged voice tube. See page 18.
• Speaking volume is too low. Increase the speaking volume by
adjusting the speaking volume minor adjust buttons on the base unit as described on page 16. If the volume is still too low, select another speaking volume major adjust setting as described on page 16.
• Incorrect configuration dial setting for your phone. Try other
phone configuration dial settings on the base unit. Ensure the
selected number is in line with the position indicator. See page 14.

Try deleting your Plantronics Voyager Pro from your phone and then repair them to each other. Sometimes this does correct any issues you may be having. The link for the user guide is included below.

It seems the cord on my headset on plantronics s12 has bad connection. Some times it works but person on other line hears static.

Well it looks like the best solution would to buy another headset assembly. You could short out the whole system if you do not. see link below. It's @ 70 bucks but look on eBay and you might find a good deal.

Try re-pairing the headset to the Plantronics 500A base unit to make sure that it has a good connection. And of course you also need to be within the 30ft range of the 500A base, and you can typically only use around 6-7 of those units together in the same area. Outside caller hears themselves in an echo

Echo is usually caused by the transmit (speak) level on the unit being set too high.

1. First, try lowering the volume of the telephone. If you still hear an echo, adjust the volume of the headset itself.

2. The master transmit controls of the headset are the ABCD switch settings on the bottom of the base. A is the lowest and D is the highest setting.

3. You can fine tune this setting with the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons on the back of the charging base.

4. If this doesn't fix the echo, try moving the configuration dial on the left side of the charging base. The recommended setting for most phones is 1.
