I ordered a new motherboard to control the fan speed. Apparently this is a well known problem with this model refrigerator.

Constant speed howling noise from underneath 2003 Volvo S60 (base)

Open the oil filler lid and see if the noise goes away - or lift the oil dip stick. It could be a gummed up PCV system that causes pressure in the crank case that "whistles" when the engine is running.

By opening the lid or dip stick, you're letting the pressure out and the whistling should stop.

If this is the issue, FCP Euro has a PCV replacement kit for about $350.

My 2000 durango is making a loud howling/humming noise. It feels like it is under my feet when driving. Also when I hit 20 or30 mph. Please help. The rear end was leaking fluid. I had it sealed and fixed.

It sounds like the rear end ran dry and you need to have it rebuilt. To confirm this go for a ride with a trained tech and let him listen to it.

JUST GOT TWO NEW FRONT TIRES,(AND BALANCING). NOW THERE IS A CONSTANT NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END AND GETS LOUNDER AS ITS ACCELERATED. SOUNDS LIKE A RUBBING OR HUMMING NOISE.

Sounds like a wheel bearing or bearings going bad.

Humming or 'howling' noises are indicative of a bad wheel bearing especially on acceleration.

Good luck on this repair.

The stopping distance d of a car after the brakes are applied varies directly as the square of the speed r. If a car traveling 40 mph car stop in 90ft, how many feet will it take the same car to stop when...

The stopping distance is proportional to square of speed.

that is 90ft proportional to 40^2 mph.

We can write as 90 = X * 40^2. ( X is a constant of proportionality) .

Which implies X = 90 / 1600 = .05625.

Assume S be the distance at which car stops when the speed is 90 mph.

S = X * 90^2. ( since X does not vary as same car is used)

=> S =.05625 * 8100 = 455.625 ft.

Thank you.

likely pinion bearing or carrier bearings. They howl, characteristically, and the howl changes frequency with speed. Do check the u-joints first, though.
