Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Won't align because it says that the "paper is too narrow".

I replaced the black printer ink, and then the printer wanted to align. So I tried to align and the printer said to replace the paper with wider paper. I changed paper to a different kind of paper, and tried again. Still the same problem. I re-inserted the ink, checked the media sensor cover, powered unit down, tried to skip alignment process entirely by powering down and copying something, ....but still no change. Now it won't let me do anything. I tried to align the media sensor as suggested by someone else, by my computer runs on windows vista and when I "run" that file, nothing happens. so...i need help!

On the right side of the carriage at the bottom is where the media sensor is. If you dampen a q-tip with water and wipe the underside of that sensor you will see ink come off onto the q-tip. That sensor is on the right side of the ink carrier and the light shines down onto the paper. The lens gets covered with ink and needs cleaning...

Try using the photo paper option instead of the plain paper option.

I was using plain paper but, selecting the plain paper option...I could barely read the print. The photo paper option worked great!

Hope it helps!

I have a Kodak printer ESP5250. I have replaced the black ink cartridge, done a printer head alignment, and cleaned the printer heads. When I print a black and white printout I only get the outline, the...

Did you replaced the cartridge because of this issue or because it was depleted?

Since Kodak cartridges have the Print head attached to each cartridge it may be that the cartridge it malfunctioning.

To Test use a lightly damped paper towel and put the cartridge or print head where the ink comes out in top of the paper towel if ink start flowinf to the paper towel then the cartridge is fine, otherwise try to exchange that cartridge for a new one.

On an HP PSC 950, I'm getting a repeated "Press Enter to Align Cartridges" message when I try to copy. Got a response from a previous expert that wasn't even applicable to this model, and no response...

hello, the reason your printer is constantly trying to align cartridges, is it did not complete the alignment, machine must complete alignment, so this message will go away, this machine requires all #15 black ink cartridge and #78 color ink cartridge, it requires the color ink to be working since it uses either yellow or magenta ink for calibration, also black ink has to working for this to work. now if the ink cartridges are known good ink or printing ink cartridges, then the problem maybe the sensor that detects the color when it prints, you may try with a soft wet or damp paper towel, when cover is open as if you are replacing the inks, unplug printer from power, move carraige to left alittle bit more, on the right hand side of carraige, you might see a black piece of plastic, behind that is the sensor, use the wet towel and wipe the bottom part of carraige and sensor, do this several times. now go ahead and close machine and power up, see if machine will pickup paper, print the calibration page. if all is working it should pass.

Alignment problem on lexmark x4650 printer

Try this

Turn off you printer
remove the cartridges
and try gently moving the ink cartridges carrier from left to right
for about a min.

also you can try to wipe machine oil on the bar that holds the ink cartridge carrier
then put the cartridges back inside the carrier
then turn on you printer
and try to print again
If problem persist

TRY THIS:

turn off your printer
unplug the power cable from the printer
lift you printer and put it in an upside down position
then shake the printer from left to right
see if there's any foreign objects stuck inside the printer

Am getting error message of 'alignment failed'. black cartridge will not print

You can run into a problem aligning print heads on almost any HP All-in-One. Fortunately, the problem is usually with the paper or cartridges, not the printer itself.
The quick and dirty fix is to skip the alignment. With the HP printer, you can do that by holding the Enter button down and pressing Setup.
When you're ready to tackle the alignment issue, check the paper first. If there's anything written or printed on the page, if it's any color but white, or if its brightness level—which should be on the package—isn't at least 85, you can't use it for alignment.
If the problem isn't the paper, it's almost certainly the cartridges, which could be low on ink (if you replaced only one cartridge), defective, suffering from clogged nozzles, or past their shelf life.cartridges include a use-by date on the box. The dates tend to be conservative, but if the deadline is long since past, the cartridge could be all but useless.
Run the cartridge-cleaning routine, and then try aligning the cartridges again. If the problem was with clogged nozzles, the cleaning routine might fix it. If it doesn't, the next step is to try cleaning the cartridges and the contacts in the printer. Once you've cleaned the cartridges, try the alignment routine again. If it still fails, and you feel rich enough, you might want to try a new set of cartridges. Or, you might want to bypass the alignment again and use up the ink in the current cartridges first.

Blank paper came out when printing...

Did you take the tape off the printed circuit on the back and bottom of the new ink cartridges, also some replacement ink comes with a sticker over a vent hole that needs to be removed so the ink can flow out.

You may want to also try running through the printers head alignment and cleaning cycle to get it working.

Have error message saying paper is to narrow, load wider paper and press enter, A4 is loaded print options are set to upper tray A4, paper is loaded, cannot clear message

Hello.

That message is indicating that there is a problem with the cartridge alignment.

From HP:There are several reasons why the HP All-in-One may fail to align the cartridges. The most common reason is an ink cartridge that has one of the following problems:
  • One of the ink cartridges is low or out of ink. Black and all three colors must be available.
  • The paper has already been printed on or is colored paper.
  • Protective tape on a new ink cartridge has not been removed.
  • Contacts on the ink cartridge are not meeting the contacts in the carriage correctly.
  • Cartridge is remanufactured or refilled. Refilled or remanufactured ink cartridges may have been damaged during the refilling process or have clogged ink nozzles.
  • The ink cartridge is defective.
Also, use a fresh piece of paper that has never been printed on for the alignment process or the alignment will fail.

Hope this helps.
