Eske, my television is a White Westinghouse Model #N and the remote is a go video DVD VHS remote which came with the go video dvd/vhs. Does this give you enough information to work with?

I will see what else I can locate. It will be a while as I am going to be out for an hour or so. I couldn't see any other information regarding the model but will check further.

I see where my account has been debited for a $9.99 charge but you have not yet solved my problem. I'm not supposed to be charged until you come up with a solution for my problem. What gives?

My GoVideo DVD is the dv2130. I thought I had told you that in my initial explanation of my problem but maybe not. I hope that information helps you help me solve this issue.

This was not completely satisfactory for me. I will give it a try though since I can't think of anything else to do.

No, can you please find the model details, thanks.

  • Ekse Jun 25, 2009

    Thanks, no problem, no hurry.

  • Ekse Jun 25, 2009

The charge is pending on your credit card. Its done so to confirm that the credit card is valid and in good standing.

Can you tell me the model of your GO video. For example: "Go Video VR2940 DVD Recorder/VCR Combo" The VR2940 would be the model on that case.

  • Ekse Jun 26, 2009

Thanks, I went over the documentation for the remote controller, your tv brand was not listed, hold on while I look into it more.

  • Ekse Jun 26, 2009

Well, there is no code for your tv's brand. but the remote has a reasonably small database of codes, only 99.

Incase the instructions are too smal / hard to read, it says
    1. turn on your television
    2. point the remote at the television
    3. Hold down the tv button and enter two digit code (00 to 99)

as the remote only has 99 possible codes, it won't take you all day to test them all, (there are universal remotes that have 999 or 9999 possible codes)

You could follow the above instructions and try all the possible codes from 00 to 99.

if none of the codes work then the remote won't be able to control the television in that case you would need to get another remote or use the original remote that came with the television.

Or if you must have only one remote you could get one of those universal remotes that works with Go Video and your tv brand, that way you could use both devices with one remote.

Green tint on TV screen when playing DVD's or Videos 2nd problem and can't record anything

1: Hi i would recommend trying the recorder on a different tv to check if the problem continues. If the green tint is gone then its the tvs inputs. If it is still green then its the player or the cord. Try a different cord if the green tint is still there then the player has a problem.

2: Now for the VHS to DVD. There are general a lock out encoded on the VHS if it is a store bought movie. This is to protect the content on the VHS from piracy and that would case the DVD to be blank. The VHS to DVD are made for converting your home videos like family vacations and stuff you record your self and not for commercial movies like the ones you bye at the store. If you want to convert old VHS movies to DVD you would have to get another VHS player and another device in between the VHS player and the VHS to DVD recorder.

Want to record VHS to DVD on my Toshiba DVR620KU but do not want to connect to my TV set. Is this possible? My TV is older and does not have the input/output jacks. I just want to put in a VHS tape and a...

If the entire VHS is full then you can easily transfer the VHS contents to the DVD. The video will play while it is recording onto the DVD, but you don't have to have it hooked up to any TV for it to record. Now if you don't know how long the VHS content is that you want to record to DVD, then you will have to hook up the player to a TV so that you can press stop when you reach the end of the content you want recorded. At least this is true in the way that I use to transfer VHS to DVD:

1) Turn on the unit
2) Insert VHS tape
3) Insert DVD-+R or DVD-+ RW
4) Using remote, press VCR
5)Using remote, press play then pause the tape where you want to start recording.
6)Using remote, press DVD
7) Using the remote, press DUBBING. The VHS should start to play and the DVD should start recording

When using this method, don't hit the RECORD button!

I hope this helps!

I have a Toshiba DVD Video Recorder. How do I record from a VHS to a DVD?

For a toshiba DVD player there should be a s-video input. For a vhs you must have a vhs player that has a component/s-video output. Hook up the vhs player to the dvd recorder using an s-video cable and press play on the vhs player. Then press record on the dvd recorder.

Losing Audio Halfway Through Recording

The audio failure sounds more like a VHS player failure than a DVD software/recorder failure. Both audio and video are transferred at the same time to the DVD, and as long as the DVD recorder is working, that's really all there is. I would check the VHS player and confirm that the sound actually works all the way through.

RCA F25645 25in TV.

I have this same TV. The DVD player is either hooked up to the video or s-video input. Go to the Menu (either through the remote or from the front of the TV) and select the Setup option. Go to the part where it asks if you want to use a DVD player. Select yes. Then select Video Input. Exit the Setup. When you hit the DVD button, it will switch to the Video input. The second step is to go into the Menu and select Channel, then go to Video Input Source. From there, select which input you are using for your DVD player, the S-Video or the standard Video (yellow composite cable).
