SOURCE: my phantom spins in circles

It is is going in circles, it is likely a bent hose. This is common with these pool cleaners if you store your hose in a coiled position. Try laying the hose out on a sunny day and leave it there a few hours to straighten the hose. The running on the side could be a result of the debris bag being too full and heavy. The pressure could also be too high, which would cause both of these problems. Try decreasing the water flow though your cleaner.

SOURCE: My Hayward Phantom pool cleaner has stopped

If the cleaner has no suction, check for obstructions in the debris chamber or throat of the cleaner. Also, check for hose leaks. If the cleaner has suction, but is just not moving properly and is spinning in circles, you most likely have a problem with your hose. It is a common problem with these pool cleaners getting small kinks or bends in their hoses that cause them to move in circles. If you store your cleaner hose in a coiled position, this will make the problem worse. Try laying the hose out in the sun and stretch it slightly. Let it sit for several hours, reconnect, and try it again.

Cleaner will not stop spinning

It could be a bend or kink in the pool cleaners hose. If you store the hose coiled, this is what is causing it. Try laying the hose out in the sun and let the hose straighten to its original form. It could also be heavy debris in the cleaner or the pressure being too high. You might need to adjust your spin out options.

Cleaner just spins

If the cleaner is spinning in circles, it a probably a problem with the hoses of these pool cleaners. It was was a common problem with early models, and they have just redesigned it. Lay the hose out in the sun, stretched out, and let it sit for several hours to straighten out the hose. Make sure that you are not storing the hose in a coiled position since they are prone to bend and break.

Just spins around and around. It stays at the bottom and just spins in circles.

Hose problems are common with these pool cleaners, and this is likely your problem. The hoses have been redesigned, but if you have a model older than this season, you are likely having hose problems. You can either replace the hose or attempt to straighten it. Lay the hose out in the grass (slightly stretched) and let it sit in the sun for several hours. It should help remold any kinks or bends. Do not store the hose for this cleaner in a coiled position, since that will make the problem worse.

The pool cleaner goes around in a circle

It could be that your pressure is too high through your cleaner or that you need to empty your debris bag. However, it is most likely a bend in your hose. Lay the hose out in the sun (flat and stretched slightly) and let it sit for several hours to undo any bends or kinks. This commonly happens with pool cleaners when you store them with the hoses coiled. If you are storing your cleaner like this, you should definitely stop.

What causes the Phanton to go into a spin after about 10 min of working correctly?

Spinning in the Phantom pool cleaners is usually cause by a problem with the hose. Check the base of the hose near the cleaner for a bend or kink (anything unusual). To correct, you can lay the hose stretched out on the lawn in the sun for several hours. In extreme cases, you might have to replace the hose. Make sure that you are storing the pool cleaners hose in a non-coiled position.

I pulled my Phantom out of storage last week, placed it in the pool and it just goes around in circles. Water is slightly spraying around the little marble in the cam spin-out part but the clock hands go...

If it is going in circles, it is most likely a hose problem. Try laying the hose stretched out on a sunny day. Leave it for several hours. It may help to straighten the hose. If you can't get is reformed, you might have to replace the hose or the connection in the back of the cleaner. This is a common problem with this kind of automatic pool cleaner, especially if you coil the hose when you store the cleaner. That is never a good idea.
