Problem for Epson Stylus CX6400 All-In-One InkJet Printer

We have unplugged it from the electrical outlet and the computer. We call Epson service, they told us to purchase a new printer because they couldn' t help us over the phone. Offered us a 9.00 discount if we purchase online a new epson. I think there should be a way to over ride the error message. If anyone has any ideas I open to them. Otherwise I'm going to have to purchase a new printer. This ones not that old, I just put new ink in it.
