Question about Primavera SureTrak Project Manager 3.0 for PC

Since installing a new server with windows 2008, we can no longer print a schedule in color to our Ricoh color printer. Any suggestions?

Make sure you have the latest drivers from ricoh for your device, they will be different now that you have Windows 2008 (I'm assuming you had 2003 before?). Either way, if all else fails you can call Ricoh, they are fantastic with customer support.

My Ricoh 3500 color printer no longer is printing in color--just greys. It does not seem to be a problem with the color cartridges. Also, it streaks from left to right across a page from light to lighter...


The streaking could be anything internal to the printer, such as the transfer belt or a drum unit. As for the lack of color, that sounds like it is a setting in the print driver that got changed from printing in color to printing in monochrome or grayscale. Look through your print driver settings to see if you can locate this setting and change it back to color. Also, once you print in color again you may notice that the streaking is a specific color, which will help to troubleshoot that issue.

My printer HP C5280 don't print.It says that there is an error.I've tried reinstalling the driver and other things nothing helped.


An HP deskjet color printer is attached to an NT server on LPT1 and share on a network. It has been working well for sometimes but now, we can no longer print documents from the server console to that printer. No error message is generated. Other Windows 98 users on the network can print to this printer. Both the server and printer have been rebooted several times. Re-installation of the driver was attempted and an "unrecognized option" error was generated. The printer's uninstall program was run and the printer icon remains in the print folder. What is the most probable solution to this printer problem?

This sort of problem is the main reason I don't like to have a network printer attached to a server. It's nice when it works but can be a real pain to troubleshoot when it doesn't. As a general rule, I don't suggest trying to share an inkjet printer unless it has a built-in network jack. I have run into several situations where the bi-directional communication between the printer and the LPT port just doesn't work well in a network situation. Even with improvements in server hardware over the past several years, putting a printer on LPT1 (or any LPT port for that matter) can slow the server down, based on the IRQ normally associated with the parallel port.

If the clients can print to the printer, that would suggest the path over the network is good. I would verify that you have all the latest Windows updates applied to the server. If you have anti-virus installed on the serve (and you probably do), I would apply these updates with the anti-virus disabled. While this shouldn't be a problem, I have had it bite me more than once. After applying the updates and rebooting the server one more time, make sure that you have the latest printer drivers from HP. Disable the anti-virus softwareagain, then reinstall the printer driver to see if you get the same result. If you do get the same error, a check of HP's support web site or a call to HP Support may be in order to do a file/registry level removal of the printer driver information.

While doing this, disconnect the printer from the server or you may end up fighting the operating system trying to rediscover and install printer drivers while you are trying to clear up the initial problem. After completing these and potentially doing another reboot of the server, you might be able to successfully reinstall the printer driver.

No, all the newer machines have imbedded scanning. The scanrouter software was an old product and only supported through 2k3 server. I would setup an old PC with the scanrouter and whatever platform you were running before and use it just for scanning. You can install it as a service so it will run on its own.

Cannot detect other printer in remote desktop connection


Hello my friend, regarding on your problem kindly check your system particularly your windows 2008 server OS. Kind reinstall the printer drivers then then shared it. Then after you share the printers kindly check the ip address of your windows server 2008 OS then go to the workstation Computer then click start button found in your task bar manager then click run. Then kindly type the "\\IP of your windows server 2008" where your printer drivers installed then enter. As soon as you can log in the Windows server 2008 menu environment then if you can find or see the printer icon then click the printers icon then right click then click connect. Let the system automatically installed the printer driver to your workstation computer. then as soon as your system finished installed the printer drivers then try to run and print if you can now print using network LAN.

The problem sounds like a difference in the settings between the two drivers. Can you compare the two drivers' properties? Maybe the server's driver is set for different spooling options. Is the server handlilng other functions at the same time?
