HOW TO DRY YOUR CELL PHONE WHEN WET

There are times we have all got our cell phones wet. A lot of times we might be brushing are teeth, and were so worried about missing a phone call that we put it by the sink, and before you know it your elbow hits the phone and right in the sink it goes. OR the toilet...ewww
mc1bean_0.jpg

Your heart races, and you can't seem to even grab the phone fast enough to get it out of the sink. It almost becomes that old restaurant saying of the 10 second rule. You know the one that that says, if you drop a piece of food on the floor and pick it up with in 10 seconds that it is alright, because the germs have not got on it yet.
Well, with a phone it is kind of like the same thing, except my idea works with patience and will save you some money and save you those very important phone calls you might be missing .
Like: Wife calling cause your out of bread, or Best friend calling to brag about the Giants should of won, but referee made a bad call. You know those real important calls. Here is where I can help you.
First of after you get your phone wet like drop in shower, sink, puddle, or rained on or even the toilet.
You take it out of course, then first thing is take the battery out set it aside and send card out. Get a blow dryer, turn on med heat, and have it back at least 6 to 8 inches, and dry it in every area you can. Battery compartment included.
Next step. Is get your self a lunch size plastic baggy or plastic container that has a lid. And some regular white rice. Fill bag or container with the rice about 3/4 full. mc1bean_1.jpg

Put the whole phone in the bag or container, and with the battery after drying off the battery by hand.(do not put send card in, this dry by hand and set aside) make sure phone and battery is completely sum-urged under the rice. then close the plastic bag or lid on container air tight. Set on counter in cool dry area. Let sit overnight or at least 10 to 15 hours.
Then after that, take phone out and battery, dust off rice grains good. I like to use a can of compressed air ( get at any computer section of any store that sells computers) and blow out phone good. Now put battery back in phone and send card and DO NOT TURN ON YET, but put on charger and wait until completely charged and then turn phone on and you should have phone working again.
If not, then is possible might have to repeat or you have damage some circuits that need to be replaced.
This will solve that wet phone problem most the time, so you can get back to those ever so important calls, like friend calling to let you know who the runner up is on american idol..... Hope this helps MIke

I recently jumped into a pool with my cell phone in my pocket (SAMSUNG Reality). I realized it 10 minues or so after. Dried the phone. A day later, the phone will turn on when connected to charger...

When phone gets wet NEVER try to turn it on. Take battery out right away shake water off and put both in bowl of rice for at least 24 hrs. If your not home or don't have rice right away take battery out and get some. We have a bowl of rice on the counter all summer long for those who jump in the pool with phone in their pocket. I have washed them dropped them in the toilet my son jumped in pool with his phone, put it rice for 24 hrs and we were up and running with the exception of the one in the pool, that one cost me new battery on Ebay ($4.95) but phone worked fine, didn't even lose contacts or pictures. But the key is to NOT try to turn it on after its been wet. Water and batteries don't mix.

Dropped my phone in the toilet and doesn't stay on now

Hey, it happens! Next time though, find a bottle of alcohol, remove the battery, and soak the phone in a bowl of rubbing alcohol for a few minutes. If alcohol isn't available, sink it in a bowl of water until you can find the alcohol- Bring it out of the alcohol, THEN break out the rice, etc.
I'd guess the logic switches are compromised, preventing the turn-off.

Env3 turns off by its self

this happens to mine too! it has already turned off 8 times today. I started messing with things on the phone...pressing on buttons..opening it and closing it quickly...and stuff like that and I think I found that when you push hard on the middle of the battery..it just turns off. (try pushing on it and checking that). I don't know how to fix it but I do want to know if that is why yours turns off like that too....

My phone fell in the toilet idk what to do!!

I am not sure if this will help but here goes anyway. I assume you immediately removed the phone from the toilet when it fell in. Here is what I did in a similar circumstance. My wife once dropped her car keys and remote in the toilet while she was at work. Once she got home, I opened the unit up and using a hair dryer carefully dried off the printed circuit board. I then replaced the battery. The remote is still working today. Good luck! Whether this works out for you or not you should tell your Mom about it. Accidents do happen - my guess is she will understand.

I dropped my LG enV into a puddle of water.

Sounds like you will need a new battery. My env2 would only work if plugged into the wall charger after I dropped it in the toilet. I got a new battery and it works fine now!
