You can get all the software that came on the CD for free as a download from the Phillips support site.

I download audio cds onto my player and it plays for 2 seconds and then stops.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

Creative zen mosaic fails to be detected on my computer

First I think the your player does not work with Vista, probably that's why its not seeing it. The installation CD is supposed to carry the required software for converting preferred songs to the player's desired formats and it also should contain the desired drivers for windows.

The music that I thought I ripped from cds is not on my mp3?

open the music player by going to "my Computer" and right clicking, then click explore. open the folder that says "music", then just dragg and drop the mp3 files into that folder, wait for them to finish copying and your done.

Iriver won't let me upload from CDs and transfer....

Best way to use the H10 20gb is by creating a directory on your hard drive with your desired mp3 format files. Use ripping and encoding software with your existing audio cds.
Connect the h10 to the PC via the UMS trick (see this website).

Using a file directory on your pc, drag and drop the mp3 files from your pc to the MUSIC file folder on the h10. Install and run the EASY10 playlist creator software on your pc to organize the new files on your iRiver player. Disconnect the USB connection and enjoy!

My downloaded CDs wont play

I had the same problem when I got my first MP3 player, I knew all the music was on there, but there was no sound coming out even when it showed a son playing. I nearly threw the thing in the bin, then I discovered after a lot of time on the internet that there is a copy protect setting on Windows Media player, presumably to stop people copying music off your pc illicitly. I reset it, had to rip all the CD's again, and it worked fine. Hope this helps.

Downloading from CDs

Not sure what OS you have or what version Media Player you're using - If you have Windows XP and Media Player 10, you need to make sure you have the MW3837 set to "MTP" and not "USB".

Make this thing play the songs in the order they are on the CD

you can do one of two things. rename the songs with starting with 1, 2, 3, etc. Or make playlists and use them. The playlists play in the order the song is added to it.
