Open it up and look at the capacitors. The round "tin can" looking components. If the tops appear bulged, then replacing them may help. Check out the YouTube video... and web site...

It can be bad DC filter caps for the 16~18vdc for the backlight circuits, bad backlight circuits, bad backlights assemblies. You should inspect the inside for the bad caps with leaking/bulging top/bottom seals first, then check the DC voltage feeding the backlight circuits.

There two boards that give trouble, the power supply board, and the inverter board that energizes the back lights behind the screen, failures are usually caused by bad capacitors and in some cases bulge at the top. To repair will need a service center and I recommend an estimate.
