Question about Audiovox RP5130 Digital Voice Recorder

1 Answer

I am experiencing power problems with my voice recorder. Part way through all recordings the unit arbitrarily shuts off completely. It had been working correctly until the past week. There is no pattern, it may go for 40 seconds or 10 seconds, very frustrating. Please advise as to what I should or can do. Thanks E. Thompson

Hi Folks:

I feel rather sheepish but all that was wrong was the fact that the batteries were dying. Changed them and the problem went away.

Thanks

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do I download voice recordings from my Panasonic RR-US551 voice recorder to my desktop computer?

The RRUS551should come with a short USB cable that you can plug into your PC at one end and the RRUS551 at the other. Windows should detect your device automatically and present you with a menu of choices. You can select "Open containing folder and view files."
This will open an Explorer type window where you can just select the files you want and copy and paste them to somewhere else on your PC.

It is better to shut down your PC completely before disconnecting the cable.
Else you may corrupt files on your device.

Hope this helps.

Cannot operate svr-925 digital recorder, need manual

How to Record:
1. Make sure HOLD switch (on side of unit with pocket clip) is set to off position (slide to right is off - to left would be hold)
2. For best results set unit with mic(rophone) which is on top of unit toward sound source and press REC/STOP button (Top button on front of unit just below LCD display). Recording will begin and will be indicated on LCD display.
> Red Record LED will be on and the message number, recording time will be displayed on the LCD.
3. To stop recording, press REC/STOP button one time.
* If no other buttons are pressed within 1 minute at stop position, it will power off automatically.
4. Pause during recording by simply pressing MODE/PAUSE button- press button again to resume.

There is a Voice Operated System (VOS) Recording button on left side also. You can record with voice activation to conserve recording space but I have found that you lose a portion of the recorded sound as it activates and if there is no sound for a very few minutes the unit powers off and you will get nothing further recorded. I recomend just keeping VOS in off position.

5. To erase a recording: Select the message number you want to erase and while it is stopped (the message number will appear in LCD with the length of recording showing also)
Press and hold the ERASE button until the LCD begins blinking "ERASE" then, while it's blinking simply press the erase button again and the recording will be erased.

6. To play back a recorded message find your message by "toggling" the switch on the right side of the unit that says INDEX. That switch is the fast forward/reverse play etc. To Play simply push the switch in. This button/switch takes a little practice to use but the Play portion is straight forward. Use the front buttons to pause and stop during playback.

Hope this helps.

Sound blaster conflict

Wow I have an audigy card and a Olympus and never had that problem before.

Goto soundblaster.com and make sure the audigy drivers are updated. There is an update to the olympus software available on their website as well.

If the volume is up too high on your recorder when it is playing back, it may shut the speakers down as a safety precaution especially if your sound card has a limiter to it.

Record your voice?

The recorder for this unit was designed to be connected to a PC or other music player that fed a powered signal. Connecting a microphone without a power supply and amplifier to it will not record since the port requires a powered send.

The "B" port will record a "Line Level" signal but not a "Mic Level" signal. you will need a pattery powered microphone for you to record your voice with this unit.

It works...but not the way you'd like it to.

My recorder says "full" when i try to record, but i have deleted everything!!??!!

Solution for this problem is to Format the recorder. Step 1 is to turn on unit. Step 2 Press Erase " Delete will flash on the display. Step 3 Press and hold Rec for 3 seconds "Format" will flash on the display. Step 4 Press and hold Erase, the completed percentage will show on the display (formatting is now in progress). Step 5 After formatting is completed the remaining time will show on the display. You should now be able to record. Make sure that you hold the ERASE button in step 4 until Formatting shows 100% complete.

Lower fidelity voice recording capability

MobilePro 770 units with a serial number before MC-B004P3US-033 may have a lower fidelity voice recording capability. This may cause voice recognition software to not function properly. This issue is not experienced with new units.
