I have a Sharp AL- 1642CS - broken transfer wire

I have a Sharp AL- 1642CS - initially Sharp tech suggested replacing drum - then toner - only to now suggest checking transfer wire.....which is broken. I have all this useless extra equipment now - w/ broken wire. Any option available other than sending to Sharp to repair - or buying a new copier?
