Question about Dell OptiPlex GX280 PC Desktop
The fan on my Dell Optiplex is making a loud whining noise almost like a turbine engine and the power button is glowing a dull orange. The start up screen will not appear and it seems as the monitor is not recieving an information from the cpu because the power button on the monitor is orange as well. Can anyone help me fix this?
It sounds as if your power supply is cooked because the cooling fan has been running slow
Only way you can check is to take a panel off and hook a voltmeter into the 12v & 5V supplies on the Hard Drive and the Floppy Drive.
