My KitchenAid 15" undercounter ice maker is producing very thin ice sheets that are only frozen on the perimeters (hole in the middle). Unit is loud, producing heat and struggling. Any suggestions?

My ice maker stopped producing ice. help

One quick test would be to manually put water in the ice maker and wait a few hours. If it does push the ice out, that means the ice maker is working. If it did not refill the ice maker with water the valve (in the back) may need to replaced. It is also possible that the fill tube inside the freezer is frozen. Another thing to check is the temperature in the freezer. It has to be 10 or below for the ice maker to start a cycle.

My iceomatic ice machine is not producing ice. There is ice frozen to the grate and water is not running

Could be a bad water solenoid. Could also be because it needs to be cleaned. If there is ice stuck to the evaporator, the hot gas bypass is not working. Try cleaning the unit first.

I have the same problem, but it seems that it has gotten worse with time. When I first bought this product 6 years ago it worked fine, now the bowl won't freeze entirely and it has been in the freezer for two days (at the lowest freezer setting). I am wondering if the freezer bowl has a life span.

No ice

canyou acess theice amker assy itself??
can you look intor the icemaker make sure nothings blocking ice maker from turning(ice cubed jammed in )
look into the fill tube make sure itsnot frozen
thinkin htis machin hasan electronic "eye" if so htere a trouble shoooter under the kickplate explaining the mechanism
lastly theres a white cover plate on the front of the assy. remove the cover and loook at the white gear in the center of unit. look real close at the tabsholding that gear on.MOST common causeof failure is the ice torques the main gear and those tabs snap. if htats the case , replace the ice maker assy.

Kitchenaid KSCS250SS not producing ice

From my experience, a frozen water line coming into the icemaker indicates a bad water valve/solenoid.

The solenoid is usually located at the bottom of the rear of the unit.

The icemaker arm could be a culprit if it was detached somehow, and was really in the stop mode. But, that would not cause the ice build up in the water tube.

Ice maker will not eject the ice.

I don't know if this is your problem but I had a similar problem and it was low water pressure causing the blades to freeze up. The valve on the water tubing leading to the refridgerator was not fully open and the tubing was kinked.
