SOURCE: Gold Star VC681M - recording from VHS to DVD

This device can not record from VCR to DVD locally not a DVD recorder. However you can record from this device to your computer save the file as a wma and then burn that file to a DVD and then watch the DVD on the DVD player. This player can decode wma files: Here is a site to get the owners manual from: http://www.lge.com/support/manual.jsp Here is how the page looks:

We're not getting any sound from the dvd's. I have two cables (green/blue/red) and (red/white). but I'm at a loss how to connect from DVD to TV. Help please!

If your TV has the green, blue, red inputs then connect these 3 cables for the picture. DVD to TV, green to green, blue to blue and red to red. If your TV only has a yellow input, then connect the green cable only from the DVD yellow to the TV yellow. Now for the sound. Connect the DVD white to the TV white. Connect the DVD red to the TV red with the red cable. The white and red inputs will be next to the yellow and the green, blue, red inputs on the TV. Next select the TV input using your TV remote. Select the input for the DVD connection.

I think the DVD player might either be set to output RGB, or if you are watching it via a scart to TV, and the TV is not RGB type. Alternative the TV is an RGB type and your player needs switching to RGB output.

No matter what DVD player I use on the computer, the sound is very shaky and doesn't come in well. It is not the DVD because I have tried all of my DVDs. The sound on the movie sounds as if it is buffering...

since you've tried different dvd drives, that shaky sound may occur from your output device, or to your sound slots, try to clean your board with cautions.
