There are 4 capabilities between my TV and the dvd/vcr player I want to play my vcr and the option for the vcr player should go on except that when I press source botton on my tv remote the option says "1" and I get a salt/pepper screen. It should say 3 same number as for the cable. Can you help me? Thanks Elisabeth

Thanks, but I'm not understanding what to do. First, Model 27PT543S37A, Philips. I'm on cabel of course and after pressing source on cabel remote it comes up with 4 options, AV2, Front, 1, and CVI for TV picture. According to the cabel guy I'm supposed to press the source selection of 1 accept the 1 should be a 3 same as cabel TV input. Somehow the 3 got lost and turned into a 1 with a pepper screen. When previously I pressed source with 3 on it I pressed play on the VCR player and the picture began. Now there's a problem. Please help, thanks,Elisabeth

You said next time you talked to me you wanted me to insert a video into the VCR well it's in the slot. I do not know how to set my TV at AV1 it has a screen, thru the source button, that say's AV2. I do not know how to change that setting. Help Elisabeth

  • xhenneberg Jun 25, 2009

The TV remote does not have an AV button. It has a square of buttons on the bottom of remote and one of the buttons is the source button which allows you to access the AV2 button. It does not allow you to change the AV number. There is also a source button on the top of TV remote on the right side. What do I do? You guys are not providing an avenue for me to correct this TV - VCR/DVD problem. Elisabeth

  • xhenneberg Jun 25, 2009

I do not have a remote such as you show. The remote I have has a square section on bottom which has the only red button which says "ITR/REC" A button below, and to the right, of the red button says Video. If you are charging me for each message I send to you, I can't go on this is costing me much too much. Elisabeth

  • xhenneberg Jun 25, 2009

What are you saying? Do I see channels in TV? There are no channels popping up on screen when I change channels, if that's what you're asking. Elisabeth

  • xhenneberg Jun 25, 2009

Thanks for your last comment about the change. Now, how do I do it. please tell me. Elisabeth

  • xhenneberg Jun 25, 2009

That may be a good solution except that at the beginning of this entire conversation I said that the source button on the cable remote has 4 options to do that. 1. AV2, next FRONT, next 1, next is CVI. Those are the only options. I also mentioned that the option 1 (one) should be a 3 since that is what the TV is set to for the cable. Since the 1 (one) showed up the screen to access the VCR is salt and pepper and I don't know how to change it. Any suggestions? Elisabeth

Hi,
I need your TV model number and brand to provide you accurate info to watch VCR/ DVD player.
meanwhile, please put a tape in VCR or Disc in DVD section of player, press Play button on unit and check on what AV Input number of TV at back that VCR is hooked in TV. Select that AV Input in TV by its remote to watch it.
Hit "add a comment" button for further query.
Thanks.

OK, that means cable box is plugged in AV1 in TV and dvd-vcr combo plugged in cable box.
Please select AV1 on TV with its remote, make sure TV shows AV1 display on its screen.
Now pick cable box remote and select dvd-vcr input with it in cable box.

    What
I got to know that your dvd-vcr combo hooked in cable box input and its
output goes to TV AV1 input. So cable box will switch cable or vcr
picture on TV and TV will remain on AV1 selection.
    Thanks.

Please check the red line that shows AV button on that remote.

    =======================================================

I'm asking do you see cable TV channels via cable box in TV? if cable box show you TV programs then AV settings in TV is OK and no need to change it and to see VCR playback, we just need to change source in cable box only with cable box remote.
I hope I conveyed my thoughts clearly.
    Thanks.

My factory DVD player will except disc the ejects it

If I understand your rather cryptic post correctly...

This very well could be a Blue-Ray disk loaded into a
non-Blue-Ray capable DVD player. Your car player's capabilities MUST match the disc, otherwise, the disc won't play.

I've run into this very same problem with my home DVD players. Which both are non-Blue-Ray capable, but I was able to verify the Blue-Ray discs on my PC.

How do I get the VCR to play on the tv? It's a Sanyo DVW-7100 DVDPlayer/VCR Combo. The DVD will play but the VCR won't show up on the TV.

This maybe too simplistic but are you sure you have the right command buttons toggled try to set the player to VCR and not dvd.
Set the player to VCR with a tape in it and press play. I hope this works for you

My player seems not able to upscale the signal from my antennea and DVDs

Upscaling will only occur when playing DVDs. You have to use an HDMI connection from the DVD player to the tv. For upscaling of DVD's you will also have to setup the upscaling resolution in the DVD player's setup menu. Be sure to set the resolution to one that your tv will support.

If your tv does not have a HDMI input, then you will not be able to use the upscaling feature.

Upscaling will not occur on antenna signals. This is not possible because the hardware (inside DVD player) is only meant to upscale DVD video.

Again, to upscale DVDs ONLY, you will have to have an HDMI cable going from DVD player to TV, set up your upscaling options on your DVD setup menu and have a TV that has a HDMI input and is capable of recieving the upscaled resolution you have set your DVD player to.

If you have any further question regarding this, let me know!

Correct hookup from satilite receiver to dvd/vcr to tv

Av out from sat to AV1 on TV.
AV2 from tv to av in on dvd/vcr .
( if you can pick what av2 on the tv sends out set to send av1 out to record)
OR
AVout from sat. to AV1 on TV, AVvideo on sat to vcr/dvd.
The sat. system will act as a "play through" device so you can play vcr/dvd without changing the AV on the TV.
If you connect another lead in either option you may get a feedback loop causing audio "squeak" and video problems.
Post back to let me know if this helps.

I need to know how to hook up DVD player with Cable TV I have the cable with the white yellow and red. I hook one end into the TV and one into the DVD player. I don't get a pic or sound. I do not havethe...

The key is having at least a Universal Remote ($10.00 or less) that will operate your brand of TV. Your TV is only looking at "stations". You need to make it see Aux-1, Aux-2, or Line In mode. BUT, another trick is to run the DVD into your VCR (if capable). Select the VCR proper "input mode" (Aux-1, Aux-2, or Line In mode) then the DVD will play through the VCR and it will play through the TV on either channel 3 or 4. Problem solved!
