First thing you need to do is click the windows icon at the bottom left of the screen to pull up your start menu. 2.Then select control panel. 3. once your control panel is up select hardware and sound. 4. From the control panel screen select hardware and sound. 5. When the hardware and sound screen you will see several selections. 6.Under devices and printers you will see "add a bluetooth device" select that. It will come up with a screen that says windows will search and discover new bluetooth devices. 7. Finally make sure the device you want to connect to is set to discoverable or your computer won't find it. Most phones and other devices have a bluetooth setting menu in the wi-fi menu. Hope that helps. Good luck.

The first thing to try is the following:
In XP:
  • From Start Menu
  • Open Control Panel
  • Choose Classic View
  • Double click on System
  • Click on Hardware tab
  • Click on Device Manager
  • Open the Sound, Video and Game Controllers by clicking on it
  • Right click on your sound card, choose Uninstall
  • Now go to the Actions menu and choose Scan for new hardware
  • Windows will scan through your computer, discover the audio adapter and reinstall its drivers
In Vista/7:
  • From Start menu
  • Choose Control Panel
  • Choose Classic View or Large Icons in 7
  • Double click on Device Manager
  • Open the Sound, Video and Game Controllers by clicking on it
  • Right click on your sound card, choose Uninstall
  • Now go to the Actions menu and choose Scan for new hardware
  • Windows will scan through your computer, discover the audio adapter and reinstall its drivers
If these don't resolve your problem, you need to download a new audio driver from your manufacturer's website.

What is device manager

device manager is a control applet in windows. It informs you what devices (keyboards, dvd players, hard drives, mp3 players, webcams) are connected to your computer. You can also manage your drivers with it (drivers are the programs that tells windows how to work with the hardware specifically)
in windows 95, 98, and ME you can get to device manager by Settings > Control panel > Device Manager tab
Windows 2000 and xp = Right click on my compuer > "Hardware" tab > Device Manager
Windows Vista = Control panel > Hardware and sound > View Hardware and Devices
Windows 7 = Start Menu > Control Panel > System and Security > System > Device Manager
