How do i setup my alfa usb adapter to my neighbors router

Plug in the adapter, install the driver, from the wireless icon in your system tray join your neighbors wireless network. That is of course assuming your neighbor knows about it and it isn't password protected.

It is showing that i am connected to a wireless network, but for some reason it want let me get on the internet.

To get out to the internet your network set up has to have the router's ip number as the GATEWAY and your ISP's DNS numbers (tho auto detect should work for that. DNS is what allows your connection to find websites and domains).

Check to make sure your MODEM (from the ISP) is actually connected. Connect directly to it without your router to see if you get on the net. Or if you have other computers on your network can they get out to the net?

Is the wireless network it shows you connected to your own network? Or has it perhaps picked up a neighbor's wifi?

The most likely problem is that it isn't detecting the DNS. If it's not picking it up automatically would will need to know your ISP's DNS numbers/addresses.

Can i use my netgear adapter to pick up xbox live on a new xbox 360 from stealing my neighbors wifi signal

not really, as it can't share that signal with your xbox. It can only join their network. If you had a router, and you set it up to "extend" their network, then you could have your xbox connect to the router which would be on their network.
Of course this is illegal and I advise you don't do it.

I installed a new Zonet 1605 wireless adapter so i could pick up the wireless internet from my niegbor it does not work why?

You are not able to pick up your neighbor's network can be due to various reasons.
1) Check if the adapter has been installed properly. Check the device status in the device manager. It should say "This device is working properly"
2) The distance might be too much for you to receive the wireless signals.
3) Might be having any other wireless devices like a cordless phone near your computer which may cause interference.
4) Your neighbor's wireless router might be transmitting signals in 802.11a or 802.11n standards which is not compatible with Zonet 1605 adapter.
5) Your neighbor would have password protected his wireless network to avoid illegal use of his internet. These days there is more importance given for wireless security.

My wireless router isnt hooked up to a phone line threw att but my wii is picking up the connection but i need a password?

that is because it is your neighbors wireless network that they have secured with a password. The only way to get into that network is with their password.

No internet connection on two desktops

Hi Tony, you think your laptop is connecting to your neighbor's wireless network. So try this.
1:Go to Control Panel, click on network and internet connections, double click NETWORK CONNECTIONS. Point your mouse to the WIRELESS NETWORK CONNECTIONS. It should show that you are connected(and it will show the name of the network that you are connected to). If you do not recognize the name of the network that you are connected to then you are connected to your neighbor's network.

IF YOU ARE CONNECTED TO linksys--unsecured wireless network, there is a chance that your wireless router is not functioning at the moment.

Try this first and i will be waiting if you have a follow up problem.

Good Luck

Picking up another network?

Do you perhaps have both Windows Wireless Zero Configuration and the
wireless configuration utility that is supplied by the mfr of your
computer's wireless interface running at the same time?

there are many cases of people accidentally connecting to the wrong network because both neighbors used default settings on their equipment. It is a very good idea to secure your network, both to discourage the casual wardriver (who will likely just move to an unsecured system) and to prevent accidental use by a neighbor

Also, make sure that you set your network as the default and disable the "automatically connect to non preffered networks" (or something worded similar to that.

Hope this is helpful.
