Question about Symantec WinFax Pro for PC

2 Answers

Winfax attempts to fax but fails.

Maybe because Winfax is putting 44(UK code)and then 1623(area code without the 0) at the beginning of the required fax number and therefore failing. We can see this in the Message Manager send log.

This has only just happened after many months with no problems. What has happened? We cannot work out why this is happening and what the problem is.

I have a Kango 900S electric jackhammer The pin that holds the shovels on place has broken. Where can I get a replacement?

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

Most of the 900S models are listed as 240VAC models so I have used maybe a rash assumption that this unit is outside of the USA.

There are 2 different models of the 900S however the owners manual is the same: (2.19 mb)$FILE/289%20739%20-%20900%20SDSMAX.pdf

Parts on the other hand go by an HF-number.

The next 3 links are used together: Picture is .gif

From where is this number? +447582948646

This number is a UK number the +44 belong to the UK area code. If you are dialing this number from within the UK then you can replace the +44 with a 0.
Hope this helps.

Winfax pro suddenly faxing to wrong number

you have some options, so choose one.
  1. remove your fax
  2. configure your fax to answer later (maybe after ringing 10 times) and configure the winfax to answer before (something like ringing 5 times or less)
the problem here is that the fax answer and start receiving the fax and the winfax receive the fax signal at same time. check the winfax maybe you have the half part that the fax modem not has printed stored in winfax, maybe.

as I said, your better choice is removing the fax modem. even configuring like I said before, maybe the two continue to try to receive the fax at same time.

hope it helps.

Faxing Problems

Does winfax add any loss to the circuit. No.
Try increasing the "time-out" setting. This terminates an attempt after waiting too long for handshake. It's been a while since I used Winfax, so I don't remember where that setting is located. However, it may possibly be done at Windows control panel. Look for the "printers and faxes" icon then select the advanced Tab and try different print spool options also.

Remote device issued disconnect signal on last attempt.

What does the failed message say? Maybe its at the other "end" and not you. If it is nothing you can do except to advise them.

Receiving Fax Line always 'busy'

Installing fax software can be tricky, particularly if you want to import phone-book listings from an existing database or PIM, such as Microsoft Outlook. But WinFax Pro proves easy to configure. A series of introductory screens walks you through installation; you just click Next to accept the default configuration. In our tests, WinFax Pro accurately detected our fax modem and seamlessly imported our contacts from Microsoft Outlook. By comparison, competing fax programs either don't import directly from Outlook or make the process trickier than it needs to be. you can try to look on website and there will explain to you.
