I have a Toshiba 53H71 and it recently started powering on/off randomly. I described it as 'rapid', because it just clicks off then immediately back on... 'rapidly'. It is doing this every 3 or 5 or 10 minutes or so.
We recently got a Wii and it started this a day or so after we hooked it up. I thought maybe it was because of the Wii's wireless remote system. Or maybe too much amperage load on the one outlet. I disconnected the Wii and unplugged it and one more item from the power strip. Still power cycling.
I've googled everything I can think of and find no definitive answers. Anyone here have input or advice, or better yet, the solution?
I'd sincerely appreciate any help that can be offered.
Could be power supply related or the hyper board, Toshiba p/n# 23148017... Cycling on/off is the TV's protection circuit going into shutdown to keep from causing real damage. Get it to a shop and have them estimate it.
