Apartment Central A/C Unit Not Working Properly

I live in an apartment with central air. It is a small apartment so there are only 2 vents. One in the bedroom and one in the living room. The summer after we first moved in the air conditioner provided more than enough cold air for the entire apartment. However, 2 years later, I am finding that the air that comes out of the vents isn't really that cold and there isn't a whole lot of cold air coming out of the vents either. Also, the a/c will only run for about 2 hours until it stops pumping out any air. It still sounds like the fan is going but no air will come out of the vents. I have changed the filter so I know that isn't the problem. When I do turn on the a/c, the temperature in my apartment will only decrease by a few degrees. I'm not sure what the problem could be. The heat and a/c are a combined unit and the heat works perfectly. Is there something I'm missing?

see if the circuit breaker switch has tripped either partially or fully and reset it. Check for bad or loose wiring on the heater and breakers. The next thing is more likely the heating element is no good and needs repaired or the heater needs replaced.

I've got the Bosch AE 9.5 tankless water heater.

1) Cheapest and most reliable solution: Install tank-type electric water heater from local box store for $250. Get store coupons, offer 10% off store price. Repairs are made same day with generic off-the-shelf parts.

2) Install grundfo water pressure boosting pump.

3) Remove areators and low flow shower heads, Maintain unit as shown in product manual: Delime tankless unit yearly, Clean water filter monthly.

4) Call city and report low pressure and report issue as fire hazard, move to different apartment. Call apartment complex and ask why they didn't read flow requirements for tankless before installing tankless.

5) Call Bosch 866-330-2729 and complain that nobody read the flow requirement or tested local water flow before installing tankless.

Hi,
In most cases problems with the circulator pump boil down to two problems.
The most common is air in the lines causing an air lock.
The next problem is that the pump gets stuck and is not running even though itmay be hot and seem to be running. In this cause the pump can sometimes betaken apart, cleaned and it will work, but usually it needs to be replaced.

Here is a tip that I wrote that will explain circulator pump problems in moredetail.

Can't isolate central heating from hot water

What is the basic problem and objective?
Are you trying to isolate the water heater vent from the heating unit vent?
Are you trying to isolate the gas lines because furnace is drawing too much gas and water heater will not work?
Or is your tankless being used for spacing heating also?
Why are you trying to isolate?
Before calling service technician, open following link for Bosch troubleshooting resources:

Every time we put on the central heating our water runs cold

What kind of water heater do you have?
In any case, it sound like a plumber should check out system.

Do you have indirect heater that gets heat from central heating boiler?
Most indirect/boiler combo heaters have control that is set to heat the water first.
If water is not getting heated, then the control needs repair.

Do you have gas water heater with gas central heating?
The central heater may be drawing so much gas from meter, that other gas appliances are unable to function. larger gas meter or gas line may be needed.
Or if furnace and water heater vent on same chimney, the backflow from central heat could be affecting burner on water heater especially if water heater has electronic sensor that stop combustion if air quality is bad. Venting problems can lead to CO poisoning, and are a serious matter.

I have an older model Ideal Mexico 2 floor standing open flue boiler running a fully pumped system. The central heating isn't working properly despite being flushed etc. The initial problem is still there...

You could undone the return at the boiler to release any air ? if you think there is a air lock . Or turn the pump up to max with the heating on and try to push the air out .

I live in an apartment with central air conditioning....the panel in my room has two sides that have numbers..the left side says 84 and the right side says what ever number I put it...but why doesn't the...

Yes, Set the right side to 74 and you should feel cool air from vent Give it 15-30 minutes and chk to see if left side drops. If it has a preset at a certain time it will default to the preset if its in that time period and is shut off. Make sure it is set on cool. 84 is hi and is normally set there by managers to cut costs.

My Central heating system as no vent

You are talking about a gas fired system I assume. So no, it's not a big deal. Code now states that you need to vent the gas furnace from the attic or a crawl space and not from the living space. They change this code back and forth all the time. It's nothing to worry about if you do not plan to sell the home.
