Any AC shop will carry it also lows, Wal Mart Diamond and any hardware store will have it and you should be able to find the filter as a drawer inside closet it most likely will be a 24x24x1 inch filter but could be bigger.

Are the filters for my Ruud 80 plus furnace supposed to be installed vertically or horizontally?

Hello Donna Haslam

What ever EFECTIVELY BLOCKS all air
BEFORE it enters your heater...

Check out your air intake...

If this is the DESIGN EXERCISE it feels like...
Consider buying an INTAKE HOUSING
that takes a STANARD SIZE air filter.

FILTER...
AT THE INTAKE is a superior location
because it prevent dust & "stuff" from
EVER ENTERING your DUCT work.

What could cause carrier fault code 42 besides bad inducer

Could be several causes.
1. Blockage on piping
2. Water in inducer housing slowing down inducer impeller
3. Condensate trap for furnace clogged up.
4. Inducer motor going bad.
5. Leak in vacuum hoses or not connected.

Where are the filters located

THIS MODEL NUMBER IS FOR THE CONDENSOR ONLY. THERE A COIL CABINET INSIDE YOUR HOUSE. IT IS NORMALLY MOUNTED ON THE TOP OR BOTTOM OF YOUR FURNACE. LOOK FOR THE INSULATED PIPES CONNECTED TO IT. THE FILTER WOULD BE DIRECTLY BELOW OR DIRECTLY ABOVE THIS DEPENDING ON YOUR SYSTEM BEING UPFLOW OR DOWNFLOW.

CANNOT LOCATE FILTERS ON AC UNIT

Usually the filter is inside the heater housing. You remove the heater access door which should have a safety switch that opens when you remove the panel, thereby removing power from the electrical system on your unit. The filter, if there is one will be below the fan motor on an upflow heater. You should be able to see the filter when you open the heater access panel.

There should also be a filter in your return air duct or at the grille. The sizes of the filters are usually on the side of the filters.

If this helped you please take the time to write a short testimonial.
