If you do not already have it then go to this web site for Ubuntu and load Ndiswrapper and follow the instructions.

I have ubuntu core and I recently bought a generic adaptor and plugged it in and it worked. I hope you have this success. Once you load it go into your control panel then system and look for "Windows Wireless Adaptor" tool and click on it.

When you plug in the wireless USB adaptor nito your laptop, you should get a message stating that the driver is being loaded. This is a generic driver which is already available in Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7. If you look in Device Manager you should see an entry for HID Compliant Device. If this is not present then The wireless adaptor is not working. If the driver is instaleld correctly then check that the batteries are OK, correctly inserted and the ON/OFF switch is set to the ON position.

You can connect it two(2) ways...

1) use a standard serial cable (printer cable)
2) purchase a USB-to-Serial adaptor and plug it in to an open USB port.

Either way, once it is connected the system should see it and assign a generic printer driver.

please make sure that you have downloaded the driver properly.

No You don't have to worry.... Please download new driver and try....If not work you can replace it

This is a driver problem, it may be windows generic driver that has installed; so if you have already installed the software, uninstall it and remove the adapter. Restart the pc, then insert the cd driver, but don't let it autorun, then re connect adapter and this time when it asks for the driver point windows to look on the cdrom for it instead of allowing the cd to run the installation.
