Wireless mouse does not work after changing always has in the past The Dell computer and mouse is probably 8 years old but has always worked.

Try moving the mouse receivers usb plug in to another port. Unplug any new devices and restart computer. Then replug in any new usb devices.
If still not working.......
Look at Office Depot and other office stores for a replacement wireless mouse. I have seen them as low a $9.99 on up. You might even want to upgrade and get a wireless mouse and keyboard set.

Wireless Mouse 6000 controlling two computers

Try setting each one up from the start with the other disconnected and off. Start with yours first since it seems your receiver has synced with her mouse. I'm guessing because yours was setup second.

I get the same thing from a optical with cord.

Change the pointer speed. Look in Start > Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options.

Wireless Mouse

Have you changed the batteries recently?

Normal 0 Normal 0 If the mouse doesn't have a little door to open on the bottom, then try this. Just behind the Left and Right keys where your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the rear. Some mouse manufactures have used this type of access to replace the batteries.

If it’s a wireless GE mouse turn it on by pushing the button on the bottom and hold till the red light comes on. Assuming the computer is running, press the Blue light on the Receiver and then, press the button on the bottom of the mouse and it should start tracking on the monitor.
Hope this helps. Bud

If it's a wireless mouse the batteries may need replacing or there may be a driver problem, try uninstalling the mouse then reinstalling it or try reinstalling the driver again,

New mouse, still has problems

Some mice eat batteries like they are nothing. I myself have a logitec wireless mouse and i must replace the batteries every two weeks. I would suggest getting another mouse.
