Few minutes picture will be there and switches off to standby
When there is no picture and sound in TV. Replaced the defective Horizontal Output Transistor D 1878 and then noticed after when TV is switched ON a Few minutes later the picture will be there with white big retraced lines and switches off to standby mode. There is no variation in LOT screen POT and Focus POT variation is there when it is adjusted. If we replace the LOT 8-598-960 will it be resolved.

1) you have problem with the Raster 2) the main causes are a) raster b) picture c) sound d) synch 3) since this are not video, the problem is raster. your must test the voltage from section horizontal out +125vdc+vertical output +80v+all other circuit +12vdc 4) test the power supply for defective. see the diagram attached
There is some short circuit in the horizontal output section inside your RCA tv. The blinking of ztandbylight twice denotes it. it may be due to a short in the horizontal output transistor, or defective LOT [Line Output Transformer]. Remove the horizontal aoutput transistor, by resoldering it out. It can be located very near to the above said LOT, screwed on to a metal heatsink. It is a three terminal device usually black in colour. After resoldering it out, switch on your TV, and see whether the standby LED blinks or not. If not, replace it with a new one, and switch the TV for a short time, say 3 seconds or so, and switch it off, unplug it from mains supply, and feel the heat of the transistor replaced. If it overheats, LOT said above is defective, and should be replaced with same type and number. OK.
if you know how to use soldering iron, try to resolder your tv,especially the jungle, regulator and the horizontal section.if not working, check the output transistor a square black plastic w/ 3 legs at the back of the plyback.
hi first of all u should check ur transistor connections.Check your Horizontal and vertical output transistors. You should also check the horizontal and vertical yoke connections as well as your low voltage regulators.... if any of these got damaged u should purchase a new one.. but try to purchase with the help of a tv service assistant... thank u!!! rate me
Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. * Eight blinks - Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some newer models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 is defective on the D board. That would be the fly back transformer and the horizontal output transistor.
Sounds like something is getting hot causing voltage loss or drive pulse loss to the vertical IC. Maybe you have a bad solder joint. Try tapping the circuit board around the vertical section. A capacitor could be heating and opening up.
Also you might try using circuit cooler spray and make the problem show up.
This is like a car running without a driver, the horizonatl output transistor has the voltage it needs but it does not have horizontal drive signal applied to the base of the horizonatl driver transistor, the driver transistor should have a signal coming from the signal processor where the signal is generated just to get give it to the driver this driver then it gives it to the output to energize the flyback and light up the picture tube and generate a few other supplies,158 volts are there because the output is not turn on,try measuring voltage somewere else in the set and not at the collector of the output, there is a b+supply that goes to the signal processor(8 to 12 volts),check to see if you have this voltage,I couldn't tell you the pins in the siganl processor IC without squematic,It seems you know your way around tv service but be careful when checking voltages.Let Us know if you need more information.
