On the back of your TV, you should have jacks with colors RED, YELLOW & WHITE. Yellow is Video IN. The other two are Left & Right audio IN. Usually they wire up color to color.

I have a dimmer switch where there is two balck wires and one red wire needing to go into it. I have out the red wire onto a screw on the bottom right side of the switch, a black onto a screw on the top...

It sounds like you have a 3-way dimmer for a single pole application. On the dimmer there should be two screws that are the same color and one screw that is a different color. This dimmer is designed to go on the power end of the 3-way so your power in (two black wires) should go on the one screw that is the different color. The red wire should go on one of the two similar colored screws. If you are already set up this way, change the red wire to the other screw that is currently not being used. The way a 3-way switch works is that the different colored screw (usually black) touches one of the similar colored screws (usually gold) in the down position, and the other similar colored screw in the up position.

Philips 23PF9966/37 color problem!

Most likely you can adjust it in the Service Alignment Mode (SAM).

Press 062596 followed by the STATUS button (upper left). Navigate to "White Tone", press the right key to enter and select "Normal" mode. Set the colors:

Red = 135, Green = 128, Blue = 133.

The "Cool" and "Warm" menus are deltas from the "Normal" settings:

COOL: R -3, G -1, B 5
WARM: R 2, G -3, B -13

Press the "MENU" button to return to the main menu, then the "Power" button to turn the TV off.

Connect the phone jack sized end of the wire to the portable DVD player and then connect the 3 RCA's to your tv in the color coded spots. Yellow for Video, Red and White for Sound.

Thin red horizontal lines across screen

While looking at your TV, remove the bottom right speaker grill. There you will find a cover held by a couple of screws. Remove the screws and behind the cover you will find the "focus pack" which is a group of 6 adjustment screws. The top screws adjust (in order from left to right) the brightness of Red, Green and Blue.

What you will do preferably at night (or with the room dark) turn the top left adjustment screw (Red) all the way to the left and then gradually turn it to the right until the point you can see the retrace line and then turn it slightly to the left until the retrace line disappears. That's it! You can do this for all three colors - if need be. These do go out of adjustment every now and then. The 3 screws on the bottom are to focus the colors individually to minimize "bloom" on the screen. It's best to be in service mode on your TV when doing this OR open up the cabinet and cover (with something) the other 2 colors while you adjust the focus of the color you're adjusting.

Good Luck!

Error with red color

i've never had to fix this problem before, but give this a try, it might work. remove the front bottom panel of the tv, their should be 2 to 4 screws then the panel should come off. it might need a little prying & sometimes they use velcro to hold it in place along with the screws. now remove the small plastic or wodden panel, another 2 to 4 screws. now in the upper right side you will find the screen/focus block ( 6 controls). i think the top 3 are screen & the bottom 3 are focus. you will need to adjust the screen control., use a flashlight to read it. now the center is the green tube, i do not remember if the red is to the right of left. the screen control is like the master brightness, which sould help with the low sensor output. if you turn up the red too high you will get small red lines on dark picture/or in a dark room. good luck.
