Beeping Motherboard Good day, when I put on my system, it starts beeping immidiately without showing anything on the screen. Previously, an engineer examined my RAM. I tried changing it but it still makes the noise.

Try checking also the Video Card by removing it and cleaning the pins with a dry cloth or a white soft pencil eraser. Do this also in your memory card. Check power connections, keyboard and floppy drive connection. Have you checked your memory if it is compatible with your motherboard? I hope this helps.

Please need your help. When i put on my laptop( acer tmp 453) the screen is totally black. Happened after removing RAM and hard disk

Did you put the RAM back in? A PC will not boot without RAM. If you put the ram back in and its still doing it i would try reseating the RAM module(s) or trying different slots.

Beeping sound when starting

Usually when you first turn the power on ... it's usual to hear a couple of beeping sounds . And then, you may hear whirling/clicking sounds when your disk starts up (rotating) and your CD/DVD drive starts up, etc.. Then the monitor/screen lights up and starts to show the operating system (e.g. Windows) panel ... as it starts up.

If your system just beeps ... and beeps ... and beeps... and nothing else happens, the screen doesn't light up and show anything (for a few minutes), it likely the system is not starting up properly.

If you can clarify what actually happens, maybe I can offer more suggestions/information to help.

Acer aspire 5551-2036 wont come on..

I read your description carefully, there is no dought in my mind that the motherboard is the issue, acer is well known for problems in that area and unfortuneately there is nothing more you can do, generally I find they get to hot, cooling fans fail, and numerous other situations.

My acer aspire one notebook laptop when I push the power button comes on and shows the start up screen and then the screen instantly goes to this black screen with a little white line blinking in the top...

Perhaps you've built a computer and are turning it on for the first time, or you've owned this computer for awhile. Either way, you may encounter an issue where the monitor shows a black screen and the computer is beeping. There are several causes and solutions for this problem.

1.Refer to your motherboard manual, since the motherboard is the beeping device. These beeps are like Morse code, and each "beep code" is explained in the manual. Common beep codes include not having a monitor or keyboard properly connected; not having a CPU fan connected, or not attaching internal power cables to the video card. This black-screen-and-beeping issue is most common with newly-assembled computers.
2.Check external cables to make sure they're properly connected. The most important external connections to check are the monitor's signal cable and the keyboard. If your monitor cable looks damaged or kinked, try replacing it with a spare. If your keyboard's cable looks frayed, try a spare keyboard.

Also, a PS/2 keyboard plug (round, with holes in it, about the diameter of a finger) is often color-coded purple. If you have plugged it into the green port in the back of the computer (for PS/2 mice) switch it to the other one. If there is no color coding, the proper port should have a small, embossed icon of a keyboard on the back of the computer. If it does not, refer to your motherboard manual for the correct port. If all else fails, try a spare keyboard, preferably USB (Universal Serial Bus), which can be plugged into any USB port on the back of the computer.
3.Check for additional motherboard power connections. Yours may require multiple cables attached from the power supply. There is the standard wide plug, which you know is connected properly because your motherboard is beeping. However, there may also be an additional, four-pin cable that connects elsewhere on the motherboard. Check the board's manual to make sure it has all the power connections it needs.
4.Check your internal cables. Make sure that the CPU fan is plugged into the motherboard header nearby. Without that, the CPU fan will not spin, and the motherboard may detect this lack of connection and produce a beep code. Your video card also may have one or two internal power plugs that need to be attached to the power supply's cables. These cables have unique ends on them, similar in shape to a USB plug. Refer to the case or video card documentation if need be. If those cables are not attached, your motherboard may refuse to boot the system.

Your video card may be faulty. If this is a new card, it may have arrived to you broken, in which case you will probably need to request an RMA (Return to Manufacturer Authorization) to receive a replacement. If this card was previously working for you in this system, you can contact its manufacturer yourself to receive a replacement, if the device is still under warranty.

I hope you find it very helpful.

I am repairing a computer for a friend. When I start the computer I get a continual short beeps. I have checked connections but nothing shows bad. The computer worked fine previously and I haven't...

depending on the number of beeps and their durations you can search your motherboards bios beep codes which should tell you the general area of the fail
try unplugging and re-seating memory cpu videocard / monitor
these are the usual main culprits

I had this problem before. Tere is a good chance this may work.
First of all remove the ram memory.

-remove battery pack and wait 10 mins
-now start charging laptop without battery pack for 2 mins
-unplUg the power AND press and hold the power button for 45 seconds
-REPLUG THE POWER CABLE BUT DONT PUT THE BATTERY PACK YET

NOW OPEN THE LID WIDER YOU CAN PRESS POWER BUTTON YOU WILL SEE YOUR SYSTEM WILL START. ONCE YOUR SYSTEM IS READY SHUT IT DOWN PUT THE RAM AND BATTERY PACK BACK AND CONTINUE TO USE YOUR LAPTOP.

It hope fully will work as if you get one or more beeps, the POST is completing alright.

My laptop can't boot but dont have recovery disk

What about ram, is ram installed on the laptop? Without ram, i don't think it'll show anything on the screen. Yes, you are right, even without Hard disk, it should show something like hardware information on the screen, but I am not sure if you are seeing anything with black screen and white texts. If you can see at least the black screen with texts, then it's ok (but a working ram should be installed). You'll be able to use it after installing the hard disk and Operating System on it.

If this isn't the case, then you need to check the motherboard, bios and video card.
Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Loud beeping sound on start up , now will not start up , power ok

First remove the Ram and boot the system without it. If you hear continuous two beeps, then the problem is with the Ram, you need to replace it. If nothing happens, then your cpu or your motherboard is gone. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

When starting up the computer, I get 5 short beeps then continous

These beeps seem to show that your system did not detect any RAM (memory) modules connected to it. Please check.

  1. Open the CPU case (turn the PC off first)
  2. Remove the RAMs from the slot.
  3. Turn ON your computer without the RAMs installed. Then observe if it gives the same beeps. If it is the same, then the RAMs might fail to register.
  4. Try to plug in carefully the RAMs in place. If you have 2 RAM modules, try to test 1 RAM at a time to see if the combination of the 2 mess up your system.
