Confusion compounded. I removed all pix. Only one of my new shots would then display as neither the playback button nor the playback facility on menu page would work!

A mite insulting. The camera clearly would operate at all if the card was wrongly installed!

I would suggest that you first restore the default settings on the camera to see if this resolves the issue.

To do this press reset to display the reset confirmation screen then select YES and press ok/function.

Do this first and let me know if this resolves the issue. If not I will further troubleshoot the error codes for you.

The picture error message usually means that there is a problem with the selected picture and it cannot be played back. The image file itself is damaged. There may well be a problem with the memory card.

You can try formatting the memory card to resolve this but remember that formatting the card will erase any photographs on it and leave it blank.

To format the card select POWER OFF - remove and reinsert your card and then press the OK/FUNCTION. Select FORMAT then YES and press OK/FUNCTION again. All data on the card will be erased but it should be functional again.

Let me know how you get on.

If this resolves your problem, please rate my answer accordingly.

    Thanks

Try pushing the xd card in to release it

you may have the card in upside down, then you will have to use tweezers to pull it out

This is a memory card issue.
If you are able to view all the images up to that point this error means that image is corrupt. try to delete the image before the image itself and the one after and see if you can then view all the images,, if nothing works then you should format the card.
Still no go replace the memory card.

Thanks

Turn the printer off and unplug it from the wall. Press and hold the power button for sixty seconds. Check the paper supply and make sure all papers are uniform and tightly in the incoming tray. Turn the printer on and check the print que on your pc to make sure there are not unprinted documents stuck in the que preventing normal function. If there are documents in the print que you will see a printer icon (picture) on the bottom right side of the screen on your pc near the clock area. Sometimes there is an arrow in this arrow which needs to be clicked on with your mouse to expand and see all icons. Click the arrow and if you see a picture of a printer or Icon, right click with your mouse on top of it and choose open all printers. If there are documents in this area, click on one and choose delete until all are gone. Then try printing again. This should solve your issue.

How to remove write protect from olympus xd card

You don't state whether you've tried using the tiny switch located on the xD card to unlock it.

If it is already in the unlocked position then push it fully to the locked position and then fully back again.

If this does not work then please report back for additional options.

Olympus c-730, does it support xD-Picture cards greater than 128M

The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is an M or H 512mb card. The 1gb or 2gb cards are not compatible. The firmware in the camera cannot support memory storage with that capacity. The camera came out before those cards did and there no plans to upgrade the camera to allow those types of cards to be supported.

Olympus 850sw- write protect and picture error

Sounds as if the memory card has corrupted data on it now. You will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to Setup Menu - right arrow to Format- Press Ok. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect and picture error messages and the card can be used again.

Memory Card Deleting Photos After A Certain Amount Of Time??

I've have xD cards that I thought I deleted the photos, but they showed up on the Xd card when i put it in the card reader to download another set of pics. I think it happened because I used the card in 2 different cameras (thus, the cam each saved pics in their own different formats).

Saved images to the internal memory or to the optional xD-Picture Card

The internal memory and the xD-Picture Card cannot be used at the same time. When the card is inserted the internal memory is disabled. When you want to use the internal memory, remove the xD Picture Card. The LCD display will indicate that images are saved to internal memory by displaying [IN] in the lower right corner of the screen. When using the xD-Picture Card the camera’s LCD will display [xD] in the lower right corner of the screen. These indicators are displayed just above the number of available frames.
