Check your mic that is working or not. If you haeve no experience, then I have a tip to check the phone mic working or not Just go to voice recorder from multimedia then record any sound, the play it If you here the sound then the mic is ok, it wiill be a problem from the board. If not hearing an soung, change the mic in an authorized serice centre
The problem is with the mic you can verify it with by trying to record the sound using the sound recorder application. if you not able to record the sound.check whether mic is detected and it is not muted .sometimes mic may be muted.increase the volume of the mic by clicking the sound control option.
try using the windows sound recorder in the accessories menu in the all programs menu in start menu if you are able to record sound on that it means that your mic is fine but the game or software your are using to communicate to your friends doesnt have it selected if the windows recorder doesnt work with your mic then either the mic is broken or it is not set as the default sound recorder in windows sound settings
have a Dell 1545 with Dell web cam central & I've had this issue.
The problem is that Dell web cam central installs it's own microphone
settings onto your laptop called something like Dell web cam Live!. This
isn't the built in microphone in my laptop & maybe not yours
either. You have to change the settings for your computer system &
Dell web cam central. Go to start> control panel> sound>
recording .. on mine there is an option for Microphone "High Definition
Audio Device" ... that is the built in mic. You want that for your
default & apply it. Also .. as a side note .. I disabled the web cam central Live! microphone completely from this window. Then open Dell web cam central & go to the
"Record Video's" option. In the middle of this is an orange button with a
video camera icon. Next to this on the same button is a little arrow
pointing down .. click that. Under microphone .. choose Microphone "High
Definition Audio Device" just like the sound option in control panel.
I've done this & it's completely fixed. I can record videos with
sound & use my built in mic in voice/video chat.
Good day, sir/ma'am , there are several reasons why a mic does not work, let me give some. 1. its not activated, to check if it is activated, load the sound recorder program on windows. press record and shout on the mic, wave patterns can be seen on the recorder. 2. you may activate the mic and speaker if you cant hear the voices by. opening the volume control settings, options, properties, place a check on mic volume. there are other optons as well. 3. the mic is physically damage due to open wiring. get a new one. hope this may help. thanks
To locate the source of your problem (with the information available):
Try your mic on a different recording device. Something simple like a tape recorder.
If it works, the problem lies in the your recording system.
If it doesn't, The mic is the problem.
Try a known working mic on your system.
If it works, the mic is the problem.
If it doesn't, the problem lies in the your recording system.
Thats about all I can give you with the info provided. If these tests point to the mic, replace it. If they point to your recording device/system/whatever, more details will be necessary to effectively troubleshoot your problem.
