Need factory restore for aspire d257

You may be interested in having a look at "How to restore Acer Aspire One Netbook Back to factory settings" on YouTube.

But don't forget to backup your files before you do that.

Have you considered "just" doing the system restore and setting it back to the point of time when everything was working properly?
(In this case the path is " Start - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore).

So i bought an ACER ASPIRE ONE D255 red slick color laptop recently, now it's only second hand but it works fine. i checked the audio, video and it's ok. i have two problems: -when i would try and play...

Regarding the unexpected errors on playing games like solitaire or minesweeper on your D255...
As it is second hand, there may be hardware or software problems or both. Software problems can be eliminated by doing a restore of the notebook to its factory image and settings as follows...
1. power off the notebook completely and then power on again
2. during the start-up, press Alt key (to left of space bar) and F10 key together repeatedly
3. wait several minutes for Acer eRecovery to load
4. after loading eRecovery, use the up and down cursor keys to select restore type.
5. following is from the initial screen for Acer eRecovery Management (V7.0.10)
Select Restore Type
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[>] Completely Restore System to Factory Defaults
Restore your PC to factory default status.
All data on C: drive will be deleted.
[>] Restore Operating System and Retain User Data
Restore only the operating system of your PC to the factory defaults.
Files from your user accounts will be transferred to C:\backup.
This option will not remove persistent viruses or malware.
[>] Exit

Regarding WiFi problem...
1. may just need to turn on the WiFi by pushing the slide switch for it at the front right of the D255
2. you would do this after restoring to factory defaults above to ensure no software problems....

How do i reset my acer aspire E380 to factory settings please

You mean factory settings of your acer bios not the operating system? If that's what you mean then at the start up of the computer, keep pressing the delete button until it shows the bios utility program and then select the default settings. Save changes and restart. But if its the OS then use system restore. You can find it in start-all programs-accessories-system tools., and restore to most recent one system restore point. Hope this could help..

Problematic speakers = Very poor sound quality.

There is no as such best way to get rid of your problem.

All you need to do is to perform these simple checks over your Acer laptop & hence recify them.
  • Check for proper software support & drivers.
  • Check out with another set of speakers & woofers.
  • Check out loose connections & wiring mistakes.
  • Check for audio settings in Control Panel

If nothing works at all then you may need to install your OS ( may be Windows Vista now ) again.

If this solution was helpful to you then please rate 100% (or FIXYA) for this solution, otherwise don't rate at all. It was my pleasure helping you.
With regards,
