read this in the last page .

If the Manifold Flow Valve is replaced, a non volatile memory reset must be performed to learn the new port flap adaptive values.

now more lil\'horrors.. see what happens if you jerk the battery

quote

Vehicles equipped with engine and transmission computers may require a relearn procedure after the vehicle battery has been disconnected. Most vehicle computers memorize and store vehicle operational patterns. When the battery is disconnected, the information may be cleared. If the information is cleared, the computer will go into default mode in order to operate the vehicle. The vehicle computer will relearn operational patterns each time the vehicle is restarted. The relearning process may take up to 40 or more key cycles.

When a specific engine component is replaced, a relearn procedure may be required. If the relearn procedure is not performed, the vehicle may exhibit the following:

  • Harsh or poor shift quality

  • Poor fuel mileage

  • Hesitation or stumble

  • Unstable idle or stalling

  • Lean or rich running conditions

If an accessory component was replaced, a relearn procedure may also be required. The following systems and components may not work properly without a relearn procedure:

  • Anti-theft system

  • Steering system

  • Power window system

  • Power sunroof system

It is important to reset any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC\'s) before performing the relearn procedure. Most relearn procedures can be performed with the use of an OBD-2 scan tool.

NOTE

This reconnection procedure is to be performed anytime the battery has been disconnected.

  1. Connect the battery negative cable to the battery post and tighten the clamp nut to 45 inch lbs. (5 Nm).

  2. If the vehicle is equipped with Electronic Stability Program (ESP), once the battery is reconnected, the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) in the clockspring needs to be calibrated.

    NOTE

The SAS requires calibration anytime the battery or an ABS (ESP) component has been disconnected for any length of time. If the SAS is not calibrated following battery reconnection, the ESP/SAS indicator lamp is illuminated following 5 ignition cycles indicating the need for calibration.

  3. To calibrate, perform the following:

  4. Start the engine.

  5. Center the steering wheel.

  6. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left until the internal stop in the steering gear is met.

  7. Turn the wheel all the way to the right until the opposite internal stop in the steering gear is met.

  8. Center the steering wheel.

  9. Turn off the engine.

Hi,I used to be able to use my laptop (acer aspire 5733) for more than 3 hours, but now it barely lasts an hour! any idea how I can calibrate it without damage???

If your laptop is a little old even only a year or 2 old, then the battery is just wearing out and you will have to get a new one. Unfortunately laptop batteries only last a few years before they really lose their charge even with good care. To try and make it last longer use the battery managment if you havent already.

Motorcycle runs great never had any issues, but the battery was 4+ years old . One morning I tried to start it and the battery was very weak tried to start several times would not start , brought new yusa...

I have had over 20 bikes over the last 44 years and never had a battery last longer than 4yrs. Im guessing the battery needed to be replaced anyway. Did you check to see if the switch on the kick stand safty was stuck? What is going on with the emergency kill switch, is it sticking? I would check the connections to the starter and the starter relay as well.

Curser frozen had 14 year old fix it.

hello pat..... unplug it and then remove the battery. leave the battery out for two full minutes while the computer resets itself and then replace the battery. this should solve the curser problem. if it does not, then you have a virus which will require a trip to a walmart or staples to get the correct virus removing software.

Armada E500 notebook Power button not responding.

Unless you took the batteries to a service center, I am dubious about your ability to confirm the main battery is holding a charge. The average lifespan of these kinds of batteries range between 3-5 years and is likely at the end of its lifespan. This would explain the diminishing performance over the last year if there were significant power or power circuit issues, they would likely be observed on AC power as well. This model of laptop requires the battery calibration utility be run in order for the laptop use the battery. In fact, the battery can show a full charge and still not function if the utility and battery have not been properly configured.. . . instructions on HOW TO do this below. If this doesn't FixYa then the battery will need to be replaced (links to replacement sources) www.BatteriesOvernight.com/HP-Batteries,----- OR --- www.new-laptop-battery.com/Compaq/?Compaq-Armada-E500-battery.htm. You will still have to run the configuration utility when you receive your new battery.
Link to Armada e500 manuals:http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01124216/c01124216.pdf
How to run config utility: Standby and hibernation must be disabled for the battery to discharge completely and shut off. To use the Battery Calibration utility, first identify whether the battery requires calibration by launching the Power Management applet as described above. On the Battery Calibration tab, all installed batteries will be displayed in the primary list box. Next to each battery name will be an indication of whether calibration is required for that battery. If calibration is necessary, the phrase “Needs Calibration” will be displayed. Select the battery to be calibrated, and click the Start Calibration button. During calibration, the utility will display an icon on the Windows System Tray to indicate that calibration is in progress. Each phase of calibration (charging or discharging) will also be displayed. Calibration is complete when the icon is no longer displayed in the System Tray. Battery calibration requires several hours for completion. If you choose to continue using the computer during the calibration process, it must be connected to AC power. The calibration process must be allowed to finish without interruption. Performing any of the following actions will prematurely terminate calibration: Clicking the Stop Calibrating button in the Compaq Power tab. Unplugging AC power from the computer. Unplugging the calibrating battery. (This action may result in data loss if a second battery is not installed.) Undocking the computer. Pressing the power or standby button. Powering down or suspending the machine by using the Windows menu. IMPORTANT: If the calibration process is interrupted, it cannot be resumed. You must restart the computer and start the process again.
CALIBRATING WITHOUT THE UTILITY To calibrate a battery on computers without the battery calibration utility, complete the following steps: 1. Remove the second battery, if present, so that only the battery needing calibration remains in the computer. 2. Dock the computer or connect the computer to AC power. 3. Turn on the computer. 4. Check the current battery capacity level by positioning the cursor over the battery icon in the system tray. 5. Allow the battery to charge to 100%. You may use the computer, but the recharging process will require more time. 6. Set the system to “drain” mode on the battery conservation settings by pressing Fn+F7, or select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Power (or Compaq Power in Windows NT). 7. Undock the computer or disconnect the computer from AC power. 8. Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode by clicking Start > Shut Down > Restart the Computer in MS-DOS Mode > OK. 9. Allow the computer to discharge until it shuts off. 10. Dock the computer or reconnect AC power. 11. Allow the computer to charge again to 100% as in Step 5.

My laptop frequently going out of power for every 15 minutes it requires booting

By going out of power, do you mean the battery dies? Or is it shutting down even when it's plugged in?

Special equipment is necessary to check the battery of a laptop computer. The equipment will test the charging ability as well as the performance of the battery under the standard "load" of operating the computer. If yours is no longer holding a charge, or the charge lasts only a short period, it's very likely that the battery is simply worn out. Typically expect that if a battery is more than 2 years old, you'll be running out of life for it. Some batteries last longer, some much shorter. For example, Toshiba's Tecra series batteries seem to wear out and drain their charge quickly after about 6-12 months, needing a new battery.

If the battery is less than a year old, the manufacturers warranty may stipulate free replacement.

You may find a local computer repair shop that will test your battery for free since it's very simple for them to do.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Electronics malfunctioning on stationary bike

Something is obviously wrong with the electronics, and unless you find an electronics hobbyist who is willing and able to fix it you would need a new unit. To find out whether a replacement is available contact Bollinger (which apparently no longer makes exercise bikes): http://www.bollingerfitness.com/contact.html
