Question about Delta & Single Handle Shower Faucet

1 Answer

Delta single handle faucet. Hot or cold no in between.

I have a low end delta single handle faucet in my shower. It will only get hot or cold I cannot find a medium temperature. I have a tankless water heater installed and when I plumbed the house I ran 3/4 inch for hot water and 1/2 inch for cold. No problems with pressure but I am wondering if that could be the problem or is it a faulty faucet.

More info: I have the water heater set at 100 degrees
when I installed the faucet I of course didn't think I would need the manual or the package. a faucets a faucet right?....

it's 3/4 up to valve and reduced down into valve. I'm inexperienced and I listened to some people I maybe shouldn't have on the plumbing part. I'm leaning towards the mixing valve not working. Is there any way to adjust it or should I cut my losses and replace it with a better model?

Well they should be same size but unless you getting more of one then other then sound like mixing valve is not mixing. do have 3/4 hook up to mixing valve? you only need 1/2" to valve.

none that know of, most of them just mix and that it! i would take it back and try anther. and i would put at least a few feet of 1/2" before the valve. but i would get anther valve first. then try the other. paul

Why is my delta kitchen faucet hot cold backwards

The supplies are probably hooked up backwards. Hot to cold side and cold to hot side.

Kitchen delta faucet doesn't get hot enough

Was it hot enough before the Delta? If so open and close the hot water valve (under the sink) several times as there maybe mineral deposits. I know you said the flow is the same on hot and cold but unless your version is a single handle model the problem should lie with the valve. If this is a cartridge model (cold & Hot together) then the cartridge may be out of align allowing the cold and hot water to mix.

Connecting shower faucet to water line. what are al lines for . This is a Delta faucet

You should only have two lines, one HOT and ONE cold, if your already using a delta, then that means whatever is already WELDED to inside the unit is DELTA as well. JUST KEEP IN MIND that if you intend to use something other than DELTA parts, you will NEED TO do welding work!! Just changed mine out and ran into the same issue as you.

Single-handle Glacier Bay shower faucet, hot/cold reversed

Hello. It sounds like your plumbing was installed wrong, with the hot and the cold supply lines reversed. If that is the case, those supply lines will have to be replumbed to make your faucet work properly. Often, if those lines are accessable, it is only a 20 minute job. Joe

Water is not very hot.

First try adjusting the pressure balancing gear located right behind the handle. If you still do not have hot water I suggest to replace the cartridge.
