I have a AEG 74630 washing machine which seems to have developed this fault after a resent power cut
When i close the door the door light flashes green then turns red and will not start no error codes show
i thought it may be a faulty door lock so fitted a new one
but exactly the same
Please Help

This is worth posting in case anyone else has the problem. The mechanic was stumped and then around 3 days later a Zanussi gave the same problem - steam emitting from the drum. He changed the valve - the entire unit. Problem solved. Zanussi and AEG have identical internals. He changed our valve - problem solved.

More likely the PCB needs replacing - common fault, you could try a new door switch first cost £5 new PCB £65+ but is easy to replace.

I have same problem right now. The machine works fine up to the stage where it needs to pump out. the pump was dead. Have replaced the pump, but still not working and it's probably the PCB that needs replacing - expensive but will buy reconditioned for about £50.
Pump available for the machine on Ebay and easy to replace. Take of machine back panel - make sure machine off and unplugged. Pump has 3 screws holding it in - then just replace. Easy. Good luck
SOURCE: Hi, we have an Indesit WIXL 143(UK)washing
This probably happens after the main wash has completed and it is just finishing the first rinse.
It seems to be a warning that there is a partial blockage on the waste outflow.
Empty the wash and use the DRAIN program to get as much water out as possible.
From the FRONT of the machine open the lower flap and and then put a large towel on the floor.
Unscrew the big black filter cover slowly - some water will come out -about a cupful.
Ensuring the machine is turned off, use a cloth to remove any obvious build up of "gunk". Would suggest using an old toothbrush to clean off the surface and the plug.

You may have a blockage in your waste pipe. (If using an extension check any coupling has not "bunged up".
Last, check your waste pipe / grey water connection. Again, this "should" be fine, but it may be bunged up, especially if it feeds into the sink outflow.
Stick back together, plug in and use the 11, fast wash option in cold. Should now be happy, and you should hear water gurgling away noisily down the waste.
Always worth doing a 2 - 90 extra hot wash once in a while even EMPTY of washing just to "flush the system" now and again.
Hope this helps and saves you a £104 service engineer call from indesit :)
