I have a p4800pro when I turn it on it will be on for just a few second before the monitor to show the bios config., and shut itself off. You can press the the power on bottom it will not do anything. I have to disconnect the power cord and plug it back in to make it to turn it back on. I have replaced video card and memory and still didn't work. the cooling fan are all clean and I have it check so many times to make sure it is installed right. The problem still the same. As you know, the motherboard is not the only part of a computer. In your case right now I would check everything, from soup to nuts. I don think or expect to see a fault with the mother board. I would look into the power supply voltages. The situation with the colors, seems suspect to me. I also would not exclude a re-installation of the OS and all the drivers. If you need further assistance, Please, submit the following information: (1) Name of Manufacturer as well as Trade name of the computer; (2) The Model Name and Number; (3) The identification number of the motherboard. If you need help locating it, we will help you. (4) You have provided an excellent description of the problem. Can you please check and think if you forgot some important detail. In order that we are effective, we will need to duplicate your symptoms...

When i turn on my hp pavillion mx50, it shuts itself off after a few seconds and doesnt work. What could be the problem?

The problem is more than likely caused by the flyback transformer, this generates the high voltage to the crt screen, when this part fails the protection circuit activates causing the monitor to shut down.

I got a Compaq Presario SR1903wm .with red blinking light !!! power's up for about 20 seconds then shuts off !! doesnt even start up in Bios !! Dont know what to do !! should i replace the power supply...

check the ram memory ..if this shows up OK (verify it in another computer with the same specifications ) ...than the CPU is to blame ..open it up ..and remove for a few seconds the Bios battery to see if you messed up with the temperature settings ..This will reset to factory settings ..and if there is teh case with temperature limits too low set ..than it will power up after ..if it is the CPU you will have to change it

E machine monitor turns itself off and on

The same thing happened to me today. I was just sitting in my room then i hear a click and the cpu is on it stays on for a while then cuts off. It then cuts on and off with few seconds in between. It then stays in that way cutting and off for about a minite or two and then cuts off completely. A few minutes later it starts again. Also in the time it its off it will not turn on by pressing the power button. Sometimes it completly boots up by itself and then shuts itself down. If I shut it down manually while its on it'll turn itself on immeditaly after. What's going on! Will the warranty cover it? Do I need a new computer?

MY SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER MONITOR SCREEN DOES NOT COME ON WHEN I TRY TURNING IT ON. HOWEVER THE POWER BUTTON BLINKS GREEN. ANY ADVICE? THANKS SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER Monitor (black) 739S O seen at the back

The cable connecting to the PC might be loose, or the part entering the monitor could be.

Try turning the monitor on, and after a few seconds, turn on the computer. You should be able to see the BIOS POST screen text flashing by. If you can't, there is something wrong in your hardware settings.

If you can, however, that's the OS resolution set too high: the monitor shuts down to protect itself. Boot in safe mode by pressing the F8 key immediately after powering up, then lower the video resolution in Control Panel display settings to something safe - 1024 x 768 usually does the trick. At that point you can reboot in normal mode and raise the resolution again to the maximum supported by the monitor (check the manual for that).

Hp flat panel monitor comes on shows logon and then blank screen

Ok, another words, monitor powers up for few seconds and shuts down by itself. If green LED on the front panel turns off as well or stays on?
If stays on, then inverter turns into protection mode because of old backlight lamps.
If it turns off in same time with an image on the screen, then there are some bad electrolytic capacitors in the power supply.

My monitor turns itself off

If it's only a few months old then send it back under warranty.
The fault you have is the inverter circuit.

Hope that helps. =)

Dell 2407 a04 Turns on (for 2 seconds) then off

your pc may be set to a resolution that is out of range for the monitor. Boot into "Safe mode" reset the Display settings to 640 x 480. reboot into normal mode then change the screen settings to your desired resolution.
