could be because it has no speaker connected

My Panasonic home theather does not read DVD and display a U703 code. Does I need to bring the equipment to a repair center or is better to get a new one?

Considering that this unit comes as a bundle it wouldnt be profitable for stores to carry the parts seperatly. The best bet here would be if it still is within the 30 return policy then to take it back to the store you purchased it from to swap out for another. Since Im sure this isnt the case or you would have already done this you can try to save a dime by searching ebay for part systems and repairing or replacing the problem part in your tray (specifically being the tray motor). Theres plenty of tutorials for similar products found on DIY.com. Heres a link...

That aside, these types of systems are designed as a package to be used as a unit. Otherwise they might have standard connectors. Another closely-related Panasonic SA-HT system might work for you but I doubt anyone manufactures anyhting to adapt non-standard speakers to standard electronics.

They actually say on page 9 of the manual:

"Use only supplied speakers
Using other speakers can damage the unit, and sound quality will
be negatively affected.

I would interpret that to mean 'use these speakers only with similar Panasonic electronics'.

The audio amplifier IC are fried and need to be replaced

It probably needs repair of bad solder connections on the output or voltage ic's or replacment of one of them.
