Question about Sony VAIO Digital Studio PCV-RX560 PC Desktop
Hi, I have a sony vaio PCV- RS704. Ever since we plugged an external hard drive into it (forgetting to plug both usb leads in, so it didn't get fully powered by the pc), none of the 7 USB ports work. Plug in any device and XP won't recognise it. We have tried the trick of deleting the USB stuff from device manager and restarting it; no good. We have also tried turning off the power management so the usb is always powered now. And there are no exclamation marks on the usb devices in device manager.
Bizarrely one of the usb ports at the rear connected to the printer can still send printing to the printer.
I know there is an expert out there who can help...
It is common problem on most of the PC USB ports does not recognise external hardware. It is mainly due to lack power supplied by the USB Ports..You can try with Old Pentium4 maschines.IT Reads well..
Another thing dont use extension ports to plug external HDD..always use backside on board ports.\
IF it helps rate me
