Speakers not working headphones

If your regular speakers are working, then your headphone jack is broken and must be replaced. If neither has sound, try reinstalling the sound card driver available from the laptop manufacturer's website.

Acer aspire one sound not working

Fix the headphone jack to contact headphone pin. Fix the speaker contact in headphone jack to get sound to speaker when headphone is not plugged in.

Audio downloads for aspire 4720z

I would like to know what sound card you have. You can try this, though -> http://laptopsnotebooksdrivers.com/download-acer-travelmate-6592g-notebook-realtek-audio-driver-v5423-for-windows-xp-9990.html

Don't mind that it says that it's for the acer travelmate. If it doesn't work, I will need to know which sound card you have.

Acer Aspire 1406 no sound issue

So sometimes laptops play up when the headphone socket gets a bit worn. If you wiggle a headphone jack in the socket (put it in at different angles, and rub around) sometimes the sound will come back.

There are two prongs that "detect" the headphones, and cut the speakers... and if they don't "un-contact" when the headphones are removed, the speakers stay off.

You'd need someone to solder a new headphone socket on the mainboard to properly fix it, but if you wiggle and get the speakers back, they should stay back until you use the headphone socket again.

My laptop model is Aspire Acer 4720z. It doesn't have a sound unless you attach headphones or an external speaker

If you press the FN key + F8 key they are the ones that toggles the speakers on and off. There is nothing wrong with your speakers.

Speaker problem

Check if there are any hardware conflicts. Go control panel - system- hardware - device manager. If there are any yellow exclamation marks against the listing of your laptops hardware then you need to install the correct driver. If all the drivers are installed make sure the sound is enabled. Also make sure the sound is not muted and that none of the input levels on the sound mixer are very low. Note the sound will not be heard in the speakers if there is a plug in the headphone socket - make sure nothing is broken off in the socket stopping it from working.
