Question about HP iPAQ RX3715 Pocket PC

Open Question

Battery not charging. I bought a new replacement battery but it does not charge and does not turn on the unit. I have an old battery and when I plug my replacement ac adapter it does turn the unit on but does not charge.

When i plug in the unit with the old battery in it and went through the setup process a pop-up appears: "The battery temperature is too cold. The charging function is disabled temporarily. The charging function resumes when the temperature is normal". The unit just turns on but no charging indications.

When trying to charge the battery, do you get any Amber LED indicator on your iPAQ? It should be flashing when charging and solid when fully charged.

My battery loses its charge very quickly

Like all Lithium Ion batteries, the battery in your device will eventually wear out. If you charge your device fully but it loses power after a few hours (or sooner), it may be time to replace the internal battery.

Sounds like you already did this. Do you have someone you know who has the same battery you could try? Or try your battery in their device?

Step #11

You can connect it via USB and let it charge that way a little while, then try charging it normally. It's called trickle charging-

Trickle charging
Some Palm devices have the ability to "trickle charge" from a USB port on a PC or Mac. This means that it receives a very small amount of charging from the USB port, even if it is not connected to its AC charger. If your device is capable of this function, the charging time will be significantly longer for a trickle charge (depending on the power rating of the PC USB port). However, the device may not charge at all on an unpowered USB hub (or for example off off a keyboard).

SOURCE: Battery is not charging

Let the battery go all the way dead. You may have to adjust the settings in your bios so that the laptop will stay on until the battery goes completely dead. Then charge the battery. Do this a few times if it does not fix the problem you do need a new battery.

SOURCE: Lying ipaq H5550!

It's a problem with either the memory board or the button board. With my h5550, the bottom buttons started to stop working and eventualy the PPC stoped charging all together. You can find parts for it online. If all the buttons are working fine, then it's most likely the motherboard. Otherwise it should be the button board.

Will not hold a charge and will not turn on its tnd 510

Unit draws it's power through the battery not the charger. Don't ask me why i have no idea. If the battery will not hold a charge then the unit will not turn on. Battery is replacable. Make sure you do not throw out the battery since you might have to remove the plug on the old battery and put it on the new one. I don't know if you can get the specific battery for this unit but it is a common battery battery. Should be just the plug that makes it UNIQUE

Dell Studio 1440. New battery&adapter won't charge

You either have one of the following:
1. Bad Battery
2. Wrong adapter - yours no comprende w/ unit.
3. Cracked Jack - means you've got to get a tech to take the unit apart and replace it. $150-200
4. Goto your device manager, double click bat., then right mouse click on acpi driver and update it. Hopefully that works.

Hello:
Maybe your battery is ruined. Batterries tend to lose their capacity after a year or two. It depends on its use and care. If your battery is too old, for sure, you need to replace it.

I hope this helps. Thanks.

I would try replacing your ac/adaptor (power plug) before troubleshooting any further. It sounds as if the adaptor is faulty. Check eBay, you can get a replacement for less than 10 dollars.

Roomba 4108 does not charge

Try resetting your Roomba by removing the battery, unplug the charging connector, hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. This will reset the charging system, replace your battery, connect your charger and see what happens. By the way do you also have a homebase ? If so try that too

Microtalks won't charge

I have the Cobra Microtalk 4100 FRS radios with charging base. After changing the batteries with new nimh rechargables the charge light would not illuminate and the unit would not charge. I noticed the original batteries had a metal band around one end. This band makes a small connection inside the battery compartment on the first battery. Seems to be a cheap way to ensure you dont try to recharge the unit with non-rechargable batteries installed. I rapped a small piece of tinfoil around one end of the first battery in the new set then popped it back in and now they will charge correctly again. Dont try this with non-rechargable batteries! I would recomend buying original replacement batteries.
