Re: amp cant turn on

I just went to Speakercraft's web site, that is an expensive amp,$500, I would definately get it fixed, they offer a 2 year warranty, But I would raise a stink about it. Also, I wouldn't be afraid to take it to a shop, what is russian to some of us, is peanut and jelly to them. I have a guy right here who, to look at, You wouldn't think he could glue an envelope shut, But he is a genius when it comes to electronics.

I touched my speaker wire and my amp is out when i turned it on the reset trips

The output transistors are blown. This unit requires service. This is not a repair that I would recommend to a novice. Expect a parts cost in the $50-$100 raneg for this amp.

This unit is likely to be in "protect" mode. This means that a problem has been detected it the final stage of the amplifier section and the speakers are disabled to prevent damage to either the speakers of the amp. This can be casued by a poor solder connection or defective components inside the amp. Without taking internal measurements, I can not say for sure. Expect a parts cost in the $25-$40 range for this repair. Add in the local labor rate for the total repair cost.

Remove the output transistors and measure each of the sets of 3 pads and report the voltage readings here. I suspect that you have either a blown driver circuit or output transistors. The voltage readings will give me an idea on where to start looking for specifics.

Need a transistor spare part for NAD C340

Odd a transistor would have such a #. No 2Fanything series. It is most likely a 2SA949.... a PNP audio driver transistor.
It can be replaced by a NTE-383 (ECG383) transistor, though it's best to order the original # from a Japanese semiconductor supplier like MCM in Ohio.
It's best brought to a good hi-fi or guitar amp repir shop for a proper go-thru & repair.

The amp is going into "protect mode". This means there is a bad part or parts being detected. Professional service will be needed.

Jvc rx-805v repair

repairing amplifier is not easy as you think, one mistake could lead to more damage, simply replacing output transistor may not solved it, and may damage the new parts, very risky. If you are not knowledgeable on this task, don't do it. Amplifiers are the most risky gadget to repair especially the high-powered amps.
